does anyone know if theres a problem if I feed in public? we live in scotland so can feed anywhere but i wouldnt want to upset or cause a scene if its not allowed.... not like its flaunted but just curious!!

:lovestruc

never heard of any issue.
Of course some discretion will be required, but I doubt you'd go flashing your "built-in baby bottles" around central plaza ... :)

Find a quiet place and it should be ok.

If you want to be on the safe side, ask a CM if there is someplace you can breastfeed with a little privacy. You might feel more comfortable too, because a park is much much more crowded than most places you usually breast feed at (or so I assume)

Breastfed both my two for some time. Breastfed DD2 at DLRP when she was almost 6 months (she wasn't on solids then so breastfeeds only) and when we went when she was around 15 months too. No problems at all. I did have proper breastfeeding tops though (and muslins to drape over my shoulder) which did help with modesty. I sometimes went to the Baby care centers to feed her as you can sit in the room where the other Mums feed their babies food (I recall the one nearest Plaza gardens had a rocking chair/feeding chair type of thing). I also fed her in Cable car bakery in one of the booths when we stopped for a snack one day, as that was quite discrete. I think I even fed her sitting on a wall thing near the AP office (with my back to people and again draped with muslin etc), as my DD1 was in the queue with Gran to see the Princesses at the time....

I'm sure you will be fine, just use your discretion (as I'm sure you will) and you will have no probs :thumbsup2.

I miss that 'close', special time with my girls now they are getting older :sad2:.

Best wishes with the rest of the pregnancy :).

thanks for replying :)

yeah i no more want to flash anything than anyone wants to see it!! ;)

was just worried i would be told i couldnt feed or something, and at that stage still might be unpredictable...

thanks guys :thumbsup2

I've breastfed at DLP and can't remember a thing about it so I can only assume it was fine. I'm about to go again and have no concerns about it, but then by now I am well used to just getting on and feeding wherever we happen to be. Sometimes a quieter place is useful if your LO tends to get distracted though. The whole place caters so well for children that I'm sure you'll have no problems in whatever you decide to do.

This is France we are talking about - Land of liberal arts and casual attitudes towards the nude. ;)

I breastfed both mine babies till they were nearly a year old, and as we travelled a lot during their younger months, it happened a lot in public, Paris included.

You'll be grand. I don't know about the UK, but Ireland has a rather stuffy view of public breastfeeding, and I remember feeling really anxious and self concious about it back then. In reality though, there was no reason for me to feel that way. I was always incredibly discreet (as most breastfeeding women are!), and most of the time, people wouldn't even know, unless they saw the wee feet poking out the side of the blanket that covered us.

Don't fret. Just find yourself a quiet corner and you'll be fine. There will be so much going on around you, most won't even notice.

thanks guys :)

i never fed my first in public at all as was really awkward with her position wise but with 2nd I had to as had a toddler so if I didnt feed out in public we didnt get out! :)

so this time with a 6 and 4 year old will need to feed out and im much more confident about it in general just wanted to check it was ok.

but you have all reassured me - thank you!

now just to decide where to stay..... DCR..as fridge may be very useful or sequoia..... both have the pools which we thought may be good.... and dcr has bbq and cooking facilities for other options...
