Hi y'all!

Sure I read somewhere that you get free valet parking with the DDE card.. Is there any truth in these wild claims?! :sunny:

Valet parking is complimentary with the DDE card at the Disney resorts. I use it frequently when dining in, and visiting the resorts. Of course I always tip the valet attendant.

I haven't used it, but I understood it to be free valet where you were dining. And you are to show your receipt to the valet desk and your card.

You must show your dinng receipt in order to get valet free.

That's probably a requirement and its a good idea to have the dining receipt handy. But last trip all I showed to the booth when picking up the car was my DDE card. Never was asked for a dinner receipt. This includes the Grand Floridian, Boardwalk, and Contemporary valet parking.

I was asked at the Poly and CR last year.

You don't need a receipt-just your card. We did it at GF a couple of weeks ago.

It has been my experience over the past 6 months of using the DDE at Beach Club, Boardwalk, GF (multiple times), Poly (multiple times) and Contemporary, that I was not asked for a receipt.

There were occasions where I did not dine in the resort - once was for a Wishes Cruise from GF, and other occasions during the holidays to see the holiday decorations. I stated the reason for my visit on all visits, and only showed my DDE card to the valet attendent who parked my car, they noted it on the envelope with my keys. I have never had to show the card on my return to the valet stand to retrieve my car. I was also told by the security attendant at the gate when first entering the resort, that if I was parking valet, I did not require the 3 hour parking pass that they normally hand out.

I have also had them waive the valet charge when I had guests dining with me who arrived in a separate car. They other party were my guests at my DDs birthday party, and when I went out to pay their parking fee in advance of their departure, they valet attendant noted that it was DDE as well.

As I stated I can only speak to my experience.

Thanks for your help everyone!! :thumbsup2 If ever there's a question that needs answering, I know where to come.. :goodvibes

We also have never been asked for our receipt. Since they mark the time you arrived, I am sure there is a time limit before you are charged but I don't know what that is. For example, if you show up to Chef Mickey for breakfast and valet your car then go to the MK for the day, I don't think you would get free parking for the entire time.

I was hoping to get some info from someone who's been recently. My family went to WDW using the DDE for the first time last May. There were 3 separate families, each with their own DDE. We used valet parking for several ADRs at resorts. We showed our DDE cards and weren't charged anything at the resorts, but when we all checked out of POR, there were several valet parking charges on everyone's bills.

Has anyone ever had that happen? My DS spoke with the resort and they credited back half of the charges but not all.

We're going again in a week, and I would like to know if I have a leg to stand on if I'm charged again.

TIA.

We've been DDE members for many years now and never had a problem valet parking at the resorts at no charge. I just show them the card when we actually arrive and the valet writes out our ticket. We were just there in Oct. and did this. I have never been asked for a receipt but I guess there could be a first time?

I used it this past Friday and showed my DDE card when I dropped off the car. They did not ask to see it again when I went to pick up the car. They also did not ask for a receipt.

With that said, here is what the Disney site says in regard to this: Resort valet services is complimentary to members. This privilege will only be extended to one vehicle per membership card. Presenting a dining receipt at the Valet Stand upon retrieving your vehicle(s) is required.

So the way it stands, if they do not ask for a receipt and you did not eat there, count yourself lucky. If you get asked for a receipt and do not have one because you did not dine there, do not get mad at the Valet attendant because they would be doing their job.

this has been my experience, too, but I am always prepared to show a receipt if need be.

We had this happen once and since then we have removed the resort parking pass from the car to avoid the charge. Apparently the resort parking pass has a bar code that is scanned. We were able to get the charge reversed, but who wants to deal with the hassle or have Disney know our every move. You are entitled to free parking at the resorts for dinner with the DDE card and should not be charged on your resort bill.

We just got back from Disney today and used our DDE valet privliges at Grand Floridian, Contemporary, and Boardwalk. Each time the valet asked us if we were eating, etc and each time we said yes and we're on DDE. They marked something on their own portion of the receipt and that's the last we heard of it. We were never asked for our DDE card OR a receipt and I made very sure to check our room bill--NO valet charges. And we left our barcoded parking pass from SSR in the car window as we usually do.
