Free parking with AP

Just read about how you get free parking at Disney parks if you have an AP. How does this work exactly? Do you show the parking attendant your AP instead of the white piece of paper that says you're staying onsite? Curious b/c we will be staying at Universal and driving over to DW.

Just show the pass as you drive through. We have even gotten free parking with a FL resident Seasonal Annual Pass( didn't know at the time this is not allowed)
