Free Dining...who took advantage?

We were already planning our trip, then the FREE DINING :cheer2: :cheer2: came out so we added it. Figured it was FREE, why not? Now it is great to know that EVERYTHING is taken care of for our trip!!!!

We'll be at the Poly 9/4 to 9/14 and eating our way around the WS. Yeah!!!!!!!! :goodvibes

I booked for the free dining. We were going to wait for November to go, but this is going to save us so much money and I finally bit the bullet and get to stay on property!! I'm so excited!

We didn't even have a trip planned this year showed DH the free dining and he couldn't resist. lol This our 1st adults only visit Aug 28th- Sept 3rd at Pop. Thinking I should have pushed DH to change his vacation week to later in Sept but hey it's free food and adults only prolly a lot of the stuff we normally do with DD we won't even care to do this visit so crowd may not matter much.

Eatin our way around WS San Angel Inn, Alfredos, R&C, LeCelliar with a dinner at CRT all of which DD would not have enjoyed.

We were planning a trip Oct 2006 but when the free dining became available we couldn't pass that up. I was dying to go this year anyway.
We'll be at CSR on Oct 2-8, MNSSHP on Oct 2nd.
We can not wait!!!!

Where are all the August people? They were posted on another thread.

We were already going 8/26 to 9/3 with a split stay, but with the free dining, had to switch to one hotel (park passes would have been too expensive to split)so the Beach Club won out!!

We were already going 8/23 to 9/1 and got the free dining plan when it became available. I'm excited about the dining plan :goodvibes but I think what would have been a relatively uncrowded time of year will now be as crowded as the rest of the summer!!!! :sad2:

The MouseSavers Newsletter said that most of the Disney hotels "seem to be pretty well booked for <late August and September> due to a "free dining" promotion.."

:cool1: We will be there 10/2-10-8 staying at Port Orleans Riverside, with the free dining plan,(are first trip to disney) I actually had the trip booked when they came out with the promotion, and was able to still get it!!! I also was able to add a extra day of park passes for only 4 dollars if you can believe it. I was so totally excited!!! :rotfl:

DH and I are going (without the girls) 8/24 to 8/29, CSR!! When I read about the free dining here on the DIS I sent him the link at work as a "joke" (kinda). . . he wrote back, "So when did you book us?" I called him right away and asked if he was serious. He said sure, but this time just you and me!! OK then!! We just brought the girls in May so I don't feel too guilty  although I know I will when the time comes to drive them to my mom and dad's house. :guilty:

Cool! We're doing the same thing at the same time except we're staying at the Pop. This will be our first trip to WDW and we're leaving our daughters with my parents. We're telling them that this is a recon trip. We're actually celebrating our 17th anniversary. You 2 Have fun!

We will be at POR from Sept 23-Oct 1! We were planning an off-site stay but thanks to this board I found out about the free dining deal and booked our first on-site! :disrocks:

I can't wait!! :hyper: :hourglass

Had AKL ressie for two rooms using AAA rate. Decided we would upgrade to BC when free dining came available. We have PS at all the restaurants we would not have booked in the past due to cost. It was fun choosing restaurants based on their menus rather than the $$$. :flower:

We are going to be at Pop from 10/1- 10/8 with the free dining plan. Our plan origionally was to go for 6 nights at the end of October- beginning of November and pay for the dining plan, but we couldn't pass up the opportunity to eat free. We shifted our dates and added 1 night to our ressies, and still saved about $550!! :cool1:

We were already going anyway - I did take advantage of free dining after it became available though. I think the crowds might be slightly larger due to the free dining, but not a BIG difference. For one thing - did they really even advertise the free dining?! I only knew because of this board! So in other words, I think that anyone who "took" it was either going anyway or very close to deciding to come anyway (that's why they're on the disney sites!).

I had no intention of going this year since i went for ten days last fall and then i did some unexpected travelling this spring which ate up a lot of money and vacation time, but couldn't refuse the offer and and taking my niece with me.....
my understanding is that they had a limited number of offers per resort so it wasn't everyone who booked during that time frame....so i'm sure it will add some people but i doubt it will be an exorbinant number

Yeah, the free dining totally hooked me. We were planning on a trip in December, possibly staying off site to save money, but we couldn't pass this one up - now we'll be staying at POR Sept. 30 - Oct. 5 and it will still be cheaper than what I had planned for December! The only problem is it gives me less time to save for the trip, but I'm doing what it takes to make it happen. :cool1:
