Free Dining Watch 2009 - Dates Released!! Update post 1

Does anyone know if you can still book day 1 within the free dining dates and extend (up to) 10 days beyond that and still receive free dining for the entire trip? This is what we did 2 yrs ago, but I know some things have change re: reservations (ex. price increase for weekend nights)
Hope this makes sense.
Thanks!
Yes, you can get the free dining discount for your entire stay if you check in by October 3.

I sure would like to see it. I know there were block out dates last year in Oct., Nov., and Dec. for free dining, but I'm more hopeful it might happen, again; since, they are offering it again for Aug. and Sept.

I may be able to justify a trip if free dining comes in Dec. Now, I just hope Disney won't make cutbacks with the holidays decorations and entertainment, if free dining is offered at those times.

So, who else is looking for free dining for the last quarter of the year?
Last September Disney Destinations sent out some emails that offered free dining pin codes for select dates in October, November and December, the exact dates were for stays most nights 9/28-10/11, 11/9-11/22, 12/14-12/20/08. The only December dates were December 14 - 20. If you checked in by the 20th you could get the free dining offer through the 31st. These emails were random, not for the general public, and the codes were non-transferrable. About two weeks after that Disney Visa sent out a free dining code for their card holders for the same select dates in October, November and December. Those pin codes were not part of the regular Fall Dining promotion and there was no general public fd code offered for any of those dates.

I wouldnt count on that...maybe if you were able to get a bounceback offer, but I cant see them doing it during the holidays, really wouldn't make sense :confused3
Many people were able to book through Christmas last year with the Disney Free Dining Code that came out in late September, they just had to check in by Dec. 20. Of course, there's no guarantee they will offer it again this year, but you never know.

Let's say you call today and book a Pop Standard vacation package. When you call back on Monday, if the free dining rooms that have been alloted to Pop Standard rooms are sold out, you still won't get free dining on your previously reserved room. If the Pop standards have not sold out they will just apply the code to your room. (I'm just using Pop as an example because it usually sells out first, followed by All-Star Movies and Port Orleans Riverside.)

This has been something that I am trying to fugire out also, but from reading posts here, I have just been confused more. I have two reservations (one for us, one for my parents) for Sept., All Star Sports standard room with the dining plan. So my question, if I call on Mon and they are not sold out, I can just say "I would like free dining added" and they will just add the free dining and subtract the price of the dining plan from our balances??? Or will I have to book two completely new reservations???

Also, what is the phone number to call to do this?? Do I just use the same reservation number I called to make the reservations (407-939-6244) or would I need to call a different number since I already have the reservations??

Thanks for any help.

If they are not all sold out when you ask for free dining, they will unbook you from your current rooms, and book you into the free dining rooms. They aren't particular rooms in a certain location, but there is just a certain number of rooms that can be assigned as the "free dining" ones. You will have the same reservation number.

And you can use the same number you did before, just say you'd like to alter your reservation or whatever they say on the automated system as a choice.

Yes, if they still have free dining rooms available they will just add the code to your reservation. If there are no Pop rooms still available for the FD promo then you will need to pick another resort that has availability and no, you will not have to rebook if you have to pick another resort. If your current reservation is already paid in full when you add the FD code, then WDW will refund you the difference. You can just call the regular Disney Reservations line to add the code or make any changes.

We are looking to go back in December, we actually got two postcards for the Free Dining Plan w/pin code htis past December and we stayed thru Dec. 22! We stayed in the cabins for the first time and loved them. We are also going in August w/Disney Visa Free Dining offer.

I am planing to go from 29th aug to 17th sep (19 nights) will I have to make 2 seperate bookings one for 14 nights then another for the 5 nights??

SWEET!!! Thank goodness we will book our FD on Monday - hubby and 2 boys 21 an 16 are going in September and staying at CBR - have already booked our reservations, but now get to add FD - WHOO HOO!!!!!!

Don't you just love Disney

Good Morning!!:flower3:

So my AAA TA won't be in until 8:30 EST tomorrow morning...should I call Disney and book a new ressie? Or sit tight? We're booked for 9/14-18 at Pop standard room for 3 adults (we're surprising Mom for her 60th). Thoughts??:confused3

When we call in ourselves to Disney monday at 7am, will we need to give them a code, or just ask to have the FD added on? If we need a code, where will we find that code?
:)
SO EXCITED!!!

So if I am going at the end of September, I can make my ADR's 90 days in advance. If I call 90 days before my vacation starts, can a make ADR's for the entire week that I am there even though it would 91, 92, 93 days before I eat at that particular resturant? Does this make sense? Help!

Would love to get one of those emails, lol. We are booked Nov 21--28th this year at Poly for dd's 40th b'day. Free dining would be a real plus. We are getting the free dining in Sept tho. Also going in May but no free dining. Can't be too greedy, lol.
