When are you going? Have you looked at that thread? Seems late Sept was only available yesterday. They don't open it up as far out as the FP+ seems to be.

October 19-26. I looked through some of the pages for that thread, was hoping that the issue was it was too far out.

Haha! Idk if ill do a balloon because well have to pop it or leave it behind since we're flying.

Yikes! My son loves balloons but $20 is WAY over my balloon budget because clearly all 3 kids would need one and we'd have to pass it along to someone else at the end of the trip since we are flying down. Maybe if we can get a $10 one...

I need your help. We are staying at Pop for our November trip. We stayed at AoA in January. We were impressed with the transportation at AoA (it was a very busy time) and assume Pop will be just as good. We have been discussing a change to WL but are reading terrible things about the transportation. Why the difference? I would obviously expect better transportation at a deluxe resort. Is it that expectations are different because you are paying so much more? So what would be considered good at a value is terrible at a deluxe? Or is it just bad by any standard? I would love to stay at a deluxe but don't want to regret moving d/t transportation and driving myself negates the whole purpose of staying on site (IMO). What do you think?

I have a question, if anyone is comfortable to answer...how much do you all spend or plan to take for spending on souvenirs etc-food not included. I knew how much I wanted to take before FD, but idk now. I know we will have a few more snacks than the 1 per person per day so I'm planning* to spend a couple hundred on misc. food. But since the last time I was there was as a teen, and my parents took care of all that I just don't know. It's just me, DH and DS 5...I was thinking just 1000 now? Idk I don't feel like that's enough?

We usually take $1000 plus have a CC for backup. We usually bring that amount for tips at the restaurants, breakfast, snacks & souvenirs. We usually come home with, and this is no word of a lie, $1. Don't know how but we do. :)

I really can't wait to go to Disney...my DH and I have barely seen each other since I started working 3 weeks ago. We were looking forward to having a quiet night tonight....smoked some bourbon chicken on our smoker with fresh corn on the cob. Than we were going to rent scary movie 5......AND now he has to go into work. While we're in Disney there's no work phone and he CANT go in.....62 days. Sorry.....venting a little.

Sorry he has to go in! My husband works a lot of weekends and it seems we hardly see each other some weeks.
It will just make the trip that much sweeter!

Hiya! We will be at Pop in November as well! We've always stayed there, and never had trouble with the buses!! I've never stayed deluxe, but from all that I've read on here, chip and co, easy wdw and Disney tourist blog, they ALL say that transportation goes downhill at the Deluxes. To the best of my knowledge, there isn't a deluxe that has dedicated transport and doesn't share in some form. I don't know if anyone will be able to tell you why that is so, because it certainly doesn't make sense to me either!!!

The detail he was supposed to handle got cancelled! So we got our night back! He's usually off weekends but lately our weekends have been hectic. And fall ball started today for our kids.... so its going to get busier. I can't wait to go to have quality family time :)

Thank you!! I just made a drink with homemade iced tea and sweet tea vodka. ...yum! So we're going to sit and relax and actually finish watching the red sox game.

ok friends, I have kind of an embarrassing question.

My 45 day mark for my vacation to be paid in full is Sept 18. We've had some unexpected bills come in and I have to try and be creative.

We have free dining (upgraded to regular from QS), photopass, and 7 day passes. We are staying at Pop.

Ok, so Let's just say I don't have enough by Sept 18.

Can I do the following?

1. downgrade to QS, then upgrade later when I have the money? How far in advance do I have to notify Disney if I want to upgrade to regular from QS?

2. drop my photopass from my reso now, then add it later, as long as I'm in advance of the 14 days to get the special pricing, I should be ok, right?

3. Downgrade to 3-day passes now, then upgrade back up to 7 day passes when I get the money? (possibly not until I check in?)

thanks - I definitely will have the money but not all of it by sept 18. I am just trying to come up with contingency plans. I have no doubt in my mind that all the money will be there, just not all of it by Sept 18.

I am not sure about the timelines for upgrading and how far in advance I have to do that, esp with the dining and the tickets.

thanks again for everyone's help.

It shouldn't be embarrassing! We've all been there. Here's what I know. You can add dining up to 48hrs in advance (maybe just confirm when you call). I think photo pass + needs to be 2 weeks because you need the voucher they send you in the mail. So I would take off the upgraded dining and wait till as late as I can to order the photo pass. I have never added stuff later than 45 days out so I can't help you about when it needs to be paid. Pixie dust!!

Dining plans have to be finalized no later than 72 hours prior to check in, and Photopass+ is nonrefundable. They will give you until the 30 day mark to pay if you call and talk to them. Keep in mind that you will still need to pay tips even with FD, so you will still need more funds even after you pay your balance. You could drop your tickets down to a minimum 2 day, though. Good luck!

I knew you would know! Thanks for correcting my incorrect info!

Oh yes, of course - the tips I understand. This is a temporary thing - after September, things will even out significantly. I was just worried about coming up with the whole amount before Sept 18. Thank you!

We stayed at WL last year in Dec and I had no complaints. The boat to MK was the best part. Going to other parks took longer bc we stopped at GF but even with that it wasn't bad. When we went to Epcot we would take the boat to MK then the monorail to epcot. The ride was so nice. I would be there if I didn't get a pin at POFQ. We loved WL.

yes, pretty disappointed, I was really hoping to have a chance to try out the MB as we won't be back to WDW for 4-5 years. But thrilled that we got FD at the resort I had my heart set on.

I think the FD at your fab resort trumps the MBs!!! That is great! :-)
