Free dining...now open to all!

Hi. Can you please both explain what exactly you mean that there is free Dining for Disney Visa cardholders? I am staying at BWVs using my points but not doing the Dining during the dates above. Please let me know.

Sorry, I've not been on..It's half price day at Goodwill where I live. Anyway, I am a die hard off-site person so I'm not the best one to explain it but I don't think you can get it if you are staying on points anyway.

Nope. They typically allow cardholders to book it a few days earlier is all.

You're going to have to wait a little longer to find out about any Nov. or Dec. discounts. They usually don't come out until late August or early fall. Heck, free dining for Aug/Sept was just announced yesterday for the Visa cardholders. And it won't be available to the general public until Monday.

Where are these announcements typically made? I opened a Disney Visa card last August and use it regularly, but hear about these "announcements" on DisBoards or Mouseplanet, etc.

Shouldn't cardholders get something directly, like an email or something telling us about special offers? Or are we just supposed to watch the different websites for information?

If you go on the Disney Visa website, it is listed under the "Specials" tab.

Sometimes you get a postcard, sometimes not. But it is always listed on the website.

If you are on facebook that would be an easy way to keep track without having to monitor boards. I found out through a travel agent's facebook posting...I assume disboards on facebook would post it..

I have had the Disney Visa since 2008 and have never gotten anything from them about the free dining. I hear about it from here or facebook.

I paniced a bit when I read the title of this thread- we are going in July and I was really hoping it would not be free dining then! I hate going when its free dining because the quality of the food goes down and the places are overpacked and you have a hard time getting a reservation!

Glad for all of you that like going during free dining though! Its a good deal!
