Free Dining Anonymous (and a whole lot more)

Just "men in tights" giving out free dining to all:thumbsup2

Actually I despise them! I'm sensory challenged so only wear comfortable clothes.
However, even I would be willing to wear them along with you if it meant I could get free dining when we are ready to book an need it! ; )
SO, here's a question for you all.
What would YOU do for free dining? Please be creative.
Hey, I'm have a rough morning. I could use a laugh right now. Just humor me.

We have a reservation at WL in November. Like most everyone else, we are hoping for Free Dining. My question is if a FD promotion opens up, should I just go online and book a new package including FD and then cancel the original reservation later. We should be well within our 45 day window to get our money back for the first reservation.

The reason I would consider doing this is so I can book it online quickly and not have to worry about being on hold for an hour waiting for a CM to make my new reservation. Is this even a concern with FD at WL?

Also, cancelling my first reservation would't cancel my ADRs, right? But I would have to go in an link them to the new reservation. Is that correct??

I'd become a Michigan fan.

I was so bummed with this year's One Shining Moment montage. DH called it...the only part they showed of Dayton beating tOSU in the tourney was Craft crying on the floor. I shouldn't have expected anything else, though. When they did the highlights of the game all they did was talk about him! Don't get me wrong, he was a great player, but geez... a little praise for Dayton would be nice. At least they showed a locker room dance and DMO crying after the Florida loss. Would have been great to see ONE basketball through the hoop, though.

I am really frustrated with this waiting game. They make it so you have to book dining reservations 180 days before your trip, and if you don't book it then you don't get reservations. However, if you book it ahead of time and so do a lot of other people in your resort they don't do the free dining. This makes it extremely difficult and frustrating!

You can still book dining reservations without a resort reservation. You just have to do them daily, 180 days from each date of your trip. Booking a reservation on property just gives you the advantage of being able to book for the first 11 days of your stay at 180 days from check in.

There are other colleges in Ohio besides THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY??? :confused3 That is absolutely fascinating.

Just kidding! This Centerville grad was very happy for the Flyers.

Well, they did show Centerville's very own Matt Kavanaugh's back for a split second in the Craft part. So there's that. :rotfl2:

I've been reading for a few months and now it is getting so exciting, I must join in the fun. Hoping to go the 3rd or 4th weekend in October, so this promo isn't for me, but I hope it means good things for the rest of fall!

We've gotten free dining the last two years - December 2012 at POFQ and October 2013 at POR. I'd love to try a new resort, but need queen beds. So that means CSR. Anyone have opinions? I have a daughter who will be 10 and a son who will be 7 by that trip. We LOVED POFQ and then enjoyed a Royal Room at POR.

I don't quite understand the 180+10 thing everyone is talking about. We plan on staying at Pop Century in mid-November for 6nights. Can you help me understand? Thank you

It means at your 180 day mark, you can book all of your dining up to ten nights out.

I was able to book all of the Reservations I wanted, without a package booked, it wasn't hard at all, just had to book a few each day. I got everything I wanted. When FD comes out I will then get my package and add the ressies to this package in "My Disney Experience" at Disney.com.

For example, my check in date is Oct. 17. 180 days prior to that is April 20. Suppose I want to make one ADR for each date of Oct. 17, 18, 19 and 20. If I have already booked my resort reservation, I can book ADRs for all of those dates on April 20. If I have not booked my resort reservation, I can book the ADR for Oct. 17 on Apr. 20, the ADR for Oct. 18 on Apr. 21, the ADR for Oct. 19 on Apr. 22, and the ADR for Oct. 20 on Apr. 23.

Having a resort reservation allows you to book an ADR for your arrival day and the following 10 days all on the single day, 180 days from check in. Hope that helps. :goodvibes

Fortunately for me, I hate spending time and money at TS meals, so I don't have to mess with any of that. :rotfl: However, I still need to decide if we are doing anything else that opens up at 180 days, like PL or BBB. Not really a fan of BBB, but DD is 11, and we may go to Disneyland next year, so this might be her last opportunity to do it. I plan to discuss it with her tonight. I know she won't want an actual princess dress package. She's past that stage, but she may want to wear a different dress like she did with PL a couple years ago. She looked so grown up for her last father/daughter dance. It blew me away. I'll upload a pic in a few minutes. :goodvibes
