Hoping that it is soon. I trust Black but I NEED to get to the relief stage of this so I can move on to planning the rest of the trip.

YES! I am so stressed because I feel like I am in limbo.... :confused3 We are hoping to get POR (we already have a reservation at ASMusic, but knew we would be changing that when FD came out) so I am all over these boards lol.

If free dining is coming does that usually entail paying full price for room. We are currently booked at POR with MM package. 6 nights/7 days. I'm trying to see if changing packages is a better deal. I can't remember if the MM had a room discount and what % it was.

If i have a booking for POFQ and FD is offered for that resort...Am i guaranteed POFQ since its an outstanding reservation?

No. Having an existing reservation does not give you an advantage to getting the deal. You will still need to call as soon as possible whe the deal is released to see if the free dining discount can be applied to your existing reservation. They only hold a certain number of rooms for each discount.

No, each resort is given X amount of rooms for FD. When they are gone, it doesn't matter if you are booked or not, they are gone. Its simply a matter of who calls and books FD first. So pre-booking doesn't help you at all

Unfortunately not, if that was the case, we would all book early to guarantee we get FD :rotfl:
Disney offers discounts to book rooms, if rooms are booking at specific resorts without a promo, Disney can exclude resorts, room categories and dates based of existing bookings. So with all that said......
IF POFQ is not excluded and your room category you have booked is not excluded and your dates are not excluded, you can call Disney and ask them to apply FD. If you are a Disney Visa holder you can request FD when it opens to the Disney Visa holders. If not, you would be able to call and request FD when it opens to the general public.
Since you have to call to get FD added to an existing reservation, if you have already booked, you would be able to call at 7am EST the day the offer is available to the general public.
Anyone that does not have a package already booked will be able to go online at midnight to book, so by the time you get to call others will have been online booking for the past 7 hours.
I would recommend you have a 2nd and 3rd resort in mind, just in case, along with the flexibility of other room categories that you would be willing to consider. And this all depends on if your dates are included :scratchin

Good luck, I don't mean to be Debbie downer, I just want all my Disboard friends to be well prepared :thumbsup2

. How do you get two rooms for one family? We have five of us and there are no options for two rooms to book if we wanted to book a pop. Would you have to schedule one room under one adult and one child and another room under the second adult and two children. Or is there a simpler way to do it

When you book 2 rooms, you have to either book one on line and call the other one in or book them both with a CM. And yes, you would book one room with 1 adult and one child and one room with 1 adult and 2 kids. You would also want to request connecting rooms (with the door in the middle that opens into both rooms). By doing this, you have 4 double beds (or 1 king and 2 doubles) and 2 restrooms (a suite without a kitchenette :goodvibes)

thanks. Out of curiosity, would this still be cheaper than a art of animation suite?

When I did a comparison for my family trip, 2 rooms at POP was about $350 less than a suite at AoA.

Yes, for 5 of us, I too have found that 2 standard rooms is way cheaper than a suite. Plus we have 4 beds, 2 bathrooms, 2 refrigerators and 2 packages, so 2 sets of coupon vouchers for DQ, and arcade, etc. We still always end up at POR because its cheaper, but were blessed this time because my parents are going so we can stay at CBR and not restricted.

Love CBR! That was our very first resort we ever stayed in. 1991 with my 4 kids at the time. None of the values were built yet so CBR was Disney's value resort at the time :goodvibes

Depending on the offer, you might also want to consider POR in a room with a pull down bed. I priced this out for a friend earlier today and it appears that it will be cheaper to book this (if moderates include free DDP) than it would be to book 2 value rooms and upgrading from free QSDP to DDP. Quite a bit cheaper in fact!

Hey guys, I've been reading this thread for so long now! Now that we are in the home stretch, I'm beginning to get a bit nervous about the available times for dining reservations. Its only me and my boyfriend so getting seats for two shouldn't be too hard, but checking our desired restaurants during our desired days... Turns out times aren't looking too good. I got crazy ADRs last year mid summer for Chef Mickey and other hard to get reservations the day before each reservation! For five people!! It's looking quite bleak... I'm not sure if I should be so worried. Any words of wisdom that would help? Never booked at this time before!

Just have to say, I really enjoy this thread and everything Black does for us. Black, you're amazing and the rest of you! Ive learned so much from you all and I really hope we all get what we want!

We are also a party of 2. Those ADRS are not always easy. You can book a ADR for 3,if needed and just say the other person isn't coming. I know that's frowned on by some but it is done. Good luck!

Not sure if this is of any significance but the Disney Visa rewards website is down for maintenance. Maybe adding something new?
From their site.
