Free Dining 2014 Discussion ~ Part 3

Hi!
I don't know if this has been asked before but, do you think Disney will add MORE rooms for the FD promotion? A family member wants to go with us and no rooms are available. I tried calling and asking if i could add them to my reservation but the CM told me that since there are no rooms, it could not be done.

I don't know if we could ever know of they are technically adding more or if it is just someone canceling and Disney adding that back in, but I'm sure things are changing constantly in any case. I did not get a "completely booked" POR room last November until a week after FD release, and then a month later, I was actually able to change my ressie from a standard to garden view. It did take some perseverance on my part, but I did get it. I would say, if that family member really wants to go, tell them to get on the phone and call, as well as checking the website, at least daily.

ADR's made for our Nov 17-24 trip woohoo. I was lucky enough to get everything I wanted. I just hope to change the Tuskerhouse time to a little earlier

I agree, just keep trying. Once I received the PIN for POR / POFQ, all POR had was Royal Rooms. I booked at POFQ under garden view (which was all they had) ... and since then, POR has opened up with a garden view. Not sure about switching though .... I've changed from POR to POP to POFQ already

Just wanted to let everyone know that when Free Dining came out, my TA booked our family of 5 into a family suite at AoA. We REALLY wanted a Nemo suite, but none were available with the free dining package. I've been watching and watching...and today they finally had one available for my dates (Sept 14 - 20) with the free dining package. I'm so excited!!!

So keep checking if you didn't get the room you want...it would appear some ARE coming open!!

I was wondering is Disney ever sends out (via e-mail or something) discount/free dining codes to random/select guests?.....at a time when the actual "free dining promo" open to everyone is not going on?

If so, is there anything you can do to make yourself more likely to get one?

Everything is falling into place.... FD for 8 nights at CBR for 7 people, 75% of the ADRs made at the times I wanted and flights booked(thank you southwest for good times/prices)...Now to wait on 60 days to book FP+....What to do for the next 120 day SW out of austin was awsome prices/flights as well for Nov...non stop flights for $110 and return non stop for $117. Finding these great flights added an entire day(combined) to our trip.

I've been looking at every imaginable ticket combo for our dates (last week of Sept) We are in New Braunfels so San Antonio is closer, but more $$. Happy everything worked out so well for you!

I thought I was through waiting. Now I'm waiting for TA to finalize ADR's for November. I'm waiting for a PIN to adjust days slightly........it's a vicious cycle!!!!!

SW out of austin was awsome prices/flights as well for Nov...non stop flights for $110 and return non stop for $117. Finding these great flights added an entire day(combined) to our trip.

So excited to see some of our Disboard friends getting good airfare.
With Wright amendment being lifted, SW opened up non-stop airfare from Dallas Lovefield to Orlando starting Oct 13th through the end of the year for $99 each way!! My trip is in September so we didn't get to take advantage of those fares and even though we don't have a non-stop flight, we were able to book a 1 stop flight with no plane change for $116 going and $121 coming back. I was excited to get that fare and thought that was a great price especially compared to AA that was $330 rt + luggage fees. The same flights we are on are now $134 going and $140 coming back, still an ok price, just glad I booked early! I have found out that the earlier you book on SW, the better. Once they book their seats out, they don't normally drop their prices to the lowest original fares.

Everything is coming together! September 24th to October 1st, Disney and POP here we come!!

My FP+ is my next endeavor and still trying for an early morning TH breakfast ressie for 6!

Silly question because I am sure you have tried, but have you tried TH for one two person and and one four person? Or three and three? I have had to separate our parties into separate ressies in the past and they always try to accommodate.

I did find a 2 party ressie at 8:05 but the earliest 4 person is 10:10

I think as more and more school systems have gone to having fall breaks, that they don't need incentives to fill rooms.

Food and wine starts mid September and goes through early November, so I doubt they'd block off 3 weeks in October because of it.

I saw some new FD rooms open up over the weekend. We snagged one in the BCR and cancelled our WL room. Now BCR has water view available but the standard and garden view are gone. CBR also has some available rooms and they've been gone since the day FD came out.

I tired. I really did try to ignore the free drining options, but when I did a mock bookking to see what it woud cost to got o WDW instead of WDL it was actually cheaper. So who could resist that. No me

Today I booked a room at CBR w/preferred room for September. Planned it around the MMVSHP.

Columbus Day probably? I know our school gets out with a half day Wed and no school Thur, Fri or Mon of Columbus Day weekend.
