Free Dining 2014 Discussion ~ Part 3

YAY!!! I am so happy your got a PIN and your trip with your mom will be at POFQ. I know how much your were wanting to stay there with your mom!:dance3:

Thank you! I couldn't believe my luck, the CM was almost as excited as I was.

I can't see myself staying elsewhere really, POFQ is like Mary Poppins for us, practically perfect in every way ;)

Okay, have seen this post several times but did not pay attention because I never thought it would apply to me--BUT, now it may! We have friends that live in Florida and have Annual Passes. They have never considered doing the FD packages, but I have seen many of you post that they can get a 2 day ticket and apply to a future AP. Now, they say that as Florida residents about to RENEW their current APs, that they will not be able to credit any tickets purchased onto their new APs--is this accurate? I have read that if they did buy the 2 day tickets, they would not want to activate them, but use their pass instead and then use then credit the 2 day pass price the next time that they are going to re-up their passes in 2015. Can anyone give me advice here?

Are rooms opening back up perchance? I've been checking every once in a while and just saw a preferred room with two queen beds checking in on November 1 at CSR.

I think some rooms did open back up - I switched from CBR to CSR last night -my dates are Nov 1- Nov 7. I'm glad I called last night as soon as I saw it, though I was on hold for an hour.

Wow I saw a preferred for CBR and that fast it was gone... I guess everyone is after Mods?

Not me....I'm checking obsessively for beach club in September. It's been completely gone since the first day of FD. Other than a 13K 2 bedroom club level...no thanks. Nothing has opened up there since then. Looks like WL had a couple that weren't there yesterday though.

And CSR is no longer available for my dates. Glad I called last night! I almost didn't stay on hold.

I too was able to take advantage of FD right after Thanksgiving in 2012, however, in 2013, we had to switch our dates to BEFORE thanksgiving, as the first two weeks in December were blocked out of the GP offer. The 1st week of December was included in the pin code offer for FD last year, but this year, the first two weeks of December are excluded from the pin code offer AND the GP offer. I don't know if this will remain the trend, but as of right now, early December is not looking like a good time for discounts.

Hope this helps :)

In 2012 we received a pin code right about this time for the free dining, but the GP offering didn't come around until late July or early August. 2014, the GP was released very early in comparison. I'm hoping that this was an early casting of the line into the waters to see who bites. I'm very (very) guardedly optimistic that by the end of the summer we may see expanded resorts/dates depending on the public response.

Unfortunately even if they change the dates to ones more viable to us, without POR in the offer, as a family of 5, we are pretty much out of luck.

I'm hoping that maybe a good RO offer might come along that might make a Deluxe stay feasible, but I'm even less guardedly optimistic about this.

The PIN requires a 5night stay but the general public offer requires a 3night minimum and yes just price out a 4night stay with no dining. Thats what i do

My PIN or UOC does not have a minimum 5 night stay, just the same as the GP, 3 night. The 5 night is usually just a pricing example.

The PIN or UOC has a 3 night minimum also. The 5 night wording in the email is just a booking example:)

I have one and when i tried to do less then 5 it wouldnt let me. It automatically did it for 5. Yes usually it is but the PIN said 5night 6day ticket. And when i called the CM said 5 night too. Unless the computer was glitchy. But it doesnt matter. We are booked for 9nights

I booked 8 nights but only a 5 day ticket on the pin.

Subbing because we are really hoping to do that at some point. I would like to see any answers you may get.

The 'offer' they show u is just a suggestion u have to stay 3nights and buy 2 days tickets. I asked because we had a split stay but combined it into one with the FDing PIN. It said it ad the bottom of the offers page

We just booked the Wilderness Lodge for 4 nights with the Free Dining Plan. I just didn't want any surprises when we actually booked, but we're good. Thanks.

Yes I have it too. I made a mistake but doesnt matter we are staying 9 nights :goodvibes

It matters to those looking to book less than 5 nights, it's confusing to them. Congrats on staying 9 nights:) When we first started going that was our trip length.

I got some "package code" don't think it's free dinning. How does the free dinning email read? :confused3 says to call and mention code 12345. Is it a room discount?
