If you're in the United States, go through the Canadian link and just click continue when it states you have to use a Canadian card. It doesn't actually enforce that, I booked no problem through the old site.

I just did it too....But it feels naughty. Did the warning box that said you have have valid Canadian id at check-in concern you? It's sure going to be awkward when I check in andThey ask for it. I live in Washington, close enough right?
I had this same problem...had me in some weird loop.
