Free Dining 2013 Part 2 ~ The Sequel

Mine would take some serious convincing. I'm not even sure if the it'll make me and the kids happy thing will work. It's that whole money thing. I still haven't found that money tree to plant in my back yard. Lol

LOL. I hear that! We go every three to four years, cause that is what we can afford. Of course the free dining pin does make it more affordable.

My family too. It's been 4 years this time because we wanted to stay at a Mod. The way Disney is raising prices it will likely be 4-5 years before our next trip. A lot of families can not afford to go at all,so I feel lucky that we can go as often as we do.

Sylkie, I read your post a couple pages back about your planning spreadsheet & thought, "wow, that's exactly how I did it!!" and then got to the bottom & see you're an accountant too! LOL figures!

I always say that too! Blessed to go at all! :)

I can not tell you how thankful I am about going on this trip.We feel totally lucky that we can afford it and the we got FD. We booked where we could afford but in reality, to go every year is just a blessing. One that my DH and I do not take lightly. I hope everyone that wants a pin code gets one and that everyone has a wonderful trip!

My ress. for now is 11/10-11/16 but when I saw the dates of the pin I have enough room to move my dates a little. Since I have to arrive on the 10th due to a bday celabration I was going to do a ro at one of the value resort's then move to POR on the 11th. I have the first two weeks of November as vacation time and was originally going the first week till I found out that was Jersey week which usually is blacked out for potential discounts.

We have room only nov 8-10 then the 11 th -18 it turns to FD package. Staying at POFQ.. We are going for bday celebration to. See you there. Lol

We went last year and hr told me when we got back that we'll try and go back in 2014. I was ok with that. But he suggested one day to "look" at pkgs. That was last October when we booked our trip for this October. So our trip got pushed up a year....I was super excited. But after this trip, I have no idea when we'll go back. So I'm making the most out of our trip. FD, value resort, the kids bday money and cheap airfare has helped make this trip much more affordable than anticipated.

It's a money thing here too but until our cars blow up I can save monthly. It is only the two of us. I wouldn't be able to pull that happy thing off if we had kids.

When or if you have kids makes it more difficult just because of the money. But the looks on their faces when they go to disney makes it all worth it.

When we planned our first trip to DW with kids, we figured we wouldn't be able to make it back for another 5 years. Somehow, we managed to swing a trip just two years later. A great room rate PIN made it possible. We left that second trip thinking it would be another five years... but returned in two again. We've since given in to the pattern of going every other year. For us, that's about the amount of time it takes to save up airline points to pay for our flights out there. And once we have the flights taken care of, it's hard to stay away!! :rotfl:

I would love a BB offer this year. My DH has always wanted to do a "parents -only" trip, but I've always felt too guilty going without the kids. Maybe a BB would let us do a quick one.

We have gone twice without the kids in the last three years. They are grown now and we never went away alone. I thought I was going to be sad and depressed missing them and although those are wonderful memories we had a blast going just the two of us. We can't wait to return November with the free dining. Just the two of us again.. Countin down the days I'm loving this discussion board. I'm grateful we could afford to go this year but I think it'll be the last year for a while it's just become way too costly to go as much as we'd like So will be living it up this trip. Spreading pixie dust everyone for free dining

That is awesome!!!:cool1: I am hoping my DH falls in love with the world this time and will want to go more frequently. Last time (and the only other time we went) we stayed off property and I think the hassle of driving in everyday and staying in the parks all day wore us out. He is more of a beach guy which is one of the reasons I switched us to BC. I think this might be my selling feature on going every other year! I will be so miserable if I don't have a trip in the works and my DIS friends to chat with about my obsession.:grouphug:

That sounds like soooo much fun!!! :cool1::cool1:

My DH and I don't have family to take care of our kids (his parents not the type and my mom with Alzheimers) for us to travel by ourselves yet. So one day when the time comes, I hope to do those trips with just DH and eat at all those signature restaurants!:yay:
Although with another school year coming to an end, I am not going to rush it. I feel like the kids are growing up way to fast!

You are so right about the looks on their faces. It doesn't matter how old they are either. Some of the best pictures I have of my kids are their expressions while at WDW. I will always cherish those photos and memories. It doesn't matter how big they get, I know I will still see those looks of excitement.

On a side note, my parents received the pin in yesterday's mail. Oh how I wish they were coming with us this year. Can you still bat your eyelashes at your daddy to get him to do what you want when you're in your 30s? :rotfl2: He'd probably laugh at me. ooh maybe the grandkids could do it. :)

I know, I'd love to do a parents only trip but I'd feel guilty the entire time I was there because my kids love Disney. Olus I'd probably go broke because I'd buy them guilt gifts lol

Hmmm....that's a tough one. I'd love to go to Atlantis in the Bahamas, without the kids. Lol

You're always welcome here whether your planning your next trip or not. We've got all our trip plans pretty much taken care of, but I'm still here & not planning on leaving any time soon. We have such a :cool1: group of people here!

Indeed - and it doesn't do any good to tell them to stop growing up so fast, either. I mean, you spend so much time, money, emotion, etc raising your kids. Then they grow up & think they're entitled to a life of their own! What is up with that?? :rotfl2:

Before my 1st grandchild was even born, I told my kids that I wanted to be there the first time my grandkids goes to WDW; didn't matter who all else went on the trip, I just wanted to be there, too. Being there the 1st time your grandkids see WDW is an awesome experience!

I'm sorry for your loss. I have not lost a parent, but I imagine it is a very difficult time.

I tried to bat my eyelashes and indeed he laughed, but I heard some doubt in his voice. I'll get him to crack yet. Next up mom. I have to work on her too. They did come with us several years ago on my "yeah cancer's gone trip". They did have a lot of fun with all of us on that one, so maybe I can convince them yet.
