are you getting a key pad to key numbers into? I am not I have contacted icall and waiting for response.

No, I noticed that there is a keypad in the background whenever I receive the message that a validation call needs to be made. But there is also a website shown so I wasn't sure if the keypad was for the iphone and the website for the ipod touch since it was supposed to be done wirelessly.

I sent 1PrincessMomma1 an IM to ask for help. She instructed us to just use our cell phones to dial the number that shows up on the verification screen. I tried it and it appears to have worked. After dialing the number from my cell phone, I received a message on my ipod screen that the account has been activated. Now I just need to wait on my headphones with the mic to arrive in the mail. DS is at his grandparents' house for the weekend so I can't borrow his to try it out. Thanks 1PrincessMomma1 and Blue.Fairy2

ok that is just too cool for school!!!! Love it! sounds just like a regular cell phone. DS now wants to know how he can get free texting!!

My DS downloaded an app called textfree (Lite) that's supposed to allow free text messages. The app works great but does not work with all verizon numbers. I think there is a compatibility issue with the old alltel users. For example, my entire family used alltel. DS and I can text to my niece and nephew without any problem. However, if we try to text to one another or to my sister, we receive messages that the alltel website address is not valid. I think this has more to do with Verizon updating their system. I do have an email in to tech support.

This is an awesome thread.
The really sad part is when my DH asked for an itouch for xmas I totally didn't want to get him one, and now guess who is the one downloading all of the apps?
How does everyone find all of these awesome and free apps? I have read this entire discussion thread and when I go to the itunes home page and scroll down to free, all I get are free shows. Never apps or music or games.

there are app finders most are free and listed first on the list in post one. I use those and search the internet, read Apple discussion boards and other boards for app listings.


you can find free apps at the itunes store they are listed on the right hand side of the itunes page, I have never found many that way though.

I do not list every app I find some just look crappy, so are too provocative and some just have terrible ratings.

I do list most that I find and have to admit I am a app addict

I would go for the 32 gig. I have the 16 gig iphone and I have it more than half full now and I just got it at the end of Nov. if I had it to do over I would have gotten the 32 gig.

I use TextPlus. Its essentially the same kind of app, but there is no limit on the number of texts.
