Free Apps for iPhone, ipod Touch and ipad and FREE Music downloads

I have another question for the group:

My DD downloaded some songs straight to her ipod touch (using wifi) instead of downloading onto the computer and then syncing. Is there anyway to get these onto the computer?

We have some additional songs she wants to put on it that were downloaded onto the computer, but everytime we go to sync, it says that the songs that are on her touch will be deleted?

It seems there has to be a workaround on this, but I can't figure it out.

Thanks!

Yes, you can only have a limited amount of pages, 11 with the iphone and I thought only 9 with the ipod touch.

Sometimes the apps get scrambled, why, I am not sure. You just have to log into itunes and rearrange (that is the easiest way)

To find apps that do not appear on your app pages go to the search and type in the name.

You can also store apps in itunes until you need them. I have many travel apps that I would not use everyday so I keep them stored in my itunes until I need them.

Thank you so much for responding! I'm honestly still not clear (shocking huh?) :lmao: I'm the most concerned with my Itunes "short cut" disappearing from the bottom and why it did this, I don't know. Since it's not an app I have stored in my iTunes account, I don't completely understand how to get it back? It came standard on the Touch this way at the bottom this way. How do I organize the ones on the bottom - perhaps this would help me figure this out!

Again, thanks a ton,
Heather

Probably, you just accidentally moved the icon out of the bottom bar when moving other apps around. It is probably on one of your other 'pages' somewhere. To move the icons around on the iPod Touch, press and HOLD down one of the icons - they will all begin to "shake around" a bit. At this point, press the one you would like to move and drag it to another position on that page, to another page, or to the bottom bar. When you are finished moving the icons and would like to stop the "shake around" party (lol), simply hit the round home button at the bottom of your iPod.

BTW, those default apps that come with the iPod cannot actually be deleted. They can be moved, but not deleted. So, I am sure that your iTunes icon is simply on one of your pages and needs to be moved back to your shortcut bar.

I did have a problem with my iPhone one time where I wasn't able to receive calls...then I realized that the phone icon had "disappeared". I had to go into settings (under General) and reset my phone. Before I did this though, I made sure to back up to my computer so as not to lose any new apps that had been downloaded. After I did this, all was good...I just had to rearrange my icons again. This might be what is going on here...

DBF bought some songs on his ITouch and when he connected it to the computer it transferred them over.

Thanks!! So, I just double checked and I don't show my iTunes shortcut mixed in with my other apps anywhere? When I reset it this morning (by mistake), it put my apps all in alphabetical order but I still don't see the itunes shortcut. Any ideas where I can find it on my actual iTunes account on my computer? I'm glad to hear you say you can't really delete the default apps, but I'm having a heck of a time finding it!! :rotfl2: Come out, come out wherever you are!

Bummer - that's strange. Wonder what happened to it? I don't think it's listed in the App tab in your iTunes when you sync because it is a default app that you cannot remove. Hopefully you're able to figure it out soon. Let us know where it's been hiding. :confused3

I'm back! Just wanted to thank you all for answering and suggesting ideas while I was stressing! :rotfl2:

So, it was so simple really, it's almost confusing! I ended up calling Apple during my lunch break and he said it was an easy fix and I needed to restore it and then resync it back up. I didn't like that idea but I back up my iPod to my iTunes pretty regularly so I knew it was all saved. So, I took the 1.5 hours to do this and then noticed the Safari shortcut and the Itunes one (that I had lost) reappeared as it was going through the syncing. I was feeling relieved. Then, once it finished loading the apps, they disappeared again! I thought I'd lose my mind so I called Apple again. Marsha is my hero. She asked the questions, listened and the key was they were there, then they weren't. She asked if I had anything checked in my settings under general and then "restrictions". Yep, I sure did! I had the iTunes and a few others password protected so my DS couldn't accidentally load something while he was playing his games. Apparently when I put too many apps on the night before and turned it on the next day, it caused it to not load those shortcuts. Very odd to me, but as soon as I unrestricted them, they magically appeared. Turns out I didn't need to restore it after all and spend 1.5 hours doing so. I laughed....:lmao:

I'm still learning this crazy stuff so hopefully this will help someone, someday! :)

Thanks again everyone,
Heather

Just found out there are several cheap (99 cents) apps for the older phones that give you video camera ability. I downloaded Qik Video since it was 15 fps. I have the 1st iPhone.
