My hubby and I love to travel as well, and you are spot on about China being sooooo much outside our american "box"! You seriously need to jump on it if you have the chance....I can't imagine the anticipation, the sights, the unbelievable memories that you would create!
Now I know that they have gone above and beyond "fixing" up Bejing, but there would be so many other things to see and taste and smell
besides the actual Olympics...
I'm am jealous just thinking about the fact that you're thinking about going!

) but I really think it would be an experience of a lifetime! Once children come... im doomed (okay, not DOOMED, but probably wont be looking to travel outside the country for a LONG while!).

I am soooo gonna be in a drugged stupor for the next 48 hours!!!
Not to get political- But the whole Tibet- China thing? I am on the Dalai Lama's side
, made three batches of biscotti for my SIL and one batch of chocolate chip cookies for my FIL's b-day tomorrow. As soon as DS wakes up(YES! He's napping today!!!!
On a positive note, the 2010 Winter Olympics are in Vancouver and I'm so hoping we can go and take the kids. I think it would a wonderful experience.
Yes- I saw something a few months ago on the nightly news that actually brought me to tears- and I rarely cry- it was an old man in a wheel chair with his wife and they just leveled their home b/c it was not "aesthetically pleasing to the eye" They were just sitting there with no where to go, crying.
