Hi all!

We are catching up to the rest of the country with warm weather. I think it was at least 80 today. I have seen more motorcycles around this week than I have the whole 20+ years we have lived here! Everyone is out to try to beat up the gas/oil companies! YAY! :rotfl:

I bought a lottery scratch off ticket that gives you a chance to also win a Harley! If you don't win a bike, you go to the Montanalottery.com site and (after joining the player's club) enter numbers for a second chance drawing. The only thing is, you have to hang onto the ticket until they draw for all the bikes in the Fall. I won $5 (the price of the ticket) on the scratch off but I can't cash it in for a couple of months to see if they draw my name for a bike. Trust me, I'd take a free Harley in a heartbeat! :cool1: :rotfl:

How is the Survivor Chick doing these days? I hope the burns are healing.
How is the biking going? Are you picking up distance at a pace you had hoped?

I thought DH and I would be into a regular exercise routine by now - any exercise routine at all! But, things have been too busy! :(

We have favorite Chinese and Mexican restaurants that we like to frequent for lunch. For the first time in my life, my cholesterol has started to move upward and DH is on medication to keep his down. We agreed that we would give up these 2 restaurants for 3 months and have our count checked to see if it made a difference over that time. I certainly had hoped we would be walking or something by now 'cause I felt it would really make a difference in our tests over time. But, no go....:confused3

So, we'll see what the counts are the end of July. If we don't do something movement-wise, I am not really sure changing the diet that little will make a noticeable difference. :headache:

Hey everyone! We just flew back from Disney tonight (and boy are my arms tired...:rotfl: )!! I am glad everyone survived the week. IAHD, your post brought tear to my eyes when I read it. I have gotten some real thoughtless reports from my oldest's teachers, and I have to wonder- do these ladies (and sometimes men) ever learn how to constructively say what they need to say to parents without breaking their hearts (and running to the nearest therapist)?? Also- I have met very few teachers who are actually therapists, so when their comments stray from keeping me updated on academic progress I take it with a grain of salt. (FWIW- my oldest did see a psychologist in his younger years and the therapists job was to come to my DS's school to inform them that my little guy was normal and they were talking out their #%*@?!! (He said it better than that, but it was the basic theme of his 'inservices' for the teachers there).
Tinker- so good to see you back! I have missed you and little Wes in your siggy (always puts a smile on my face :thumbsup2 ). Didn't know you were going through a split. May sound strange, but it's nice to have a kindered spirit on the freap chat.
Well, I'm off to unpack, and search my house for damage. My house/pet sitter is nice and all, but he is a sophomore in college, so his tolerance for disorder is way higher than mine :rotfl2: .

I am getting there I big ride is next weekend. 25 miles. My DH thinks I will be just fine. I am getting better and the sore days are getting short and fewer as each days passes. Thanks for asking. Have you tried adding a bowl of oatmeal in the morning it has helped my DH and he has even lost 7lbs as well but I really think that is from biking. Come to think of it I lost 5 pounds and I did the happy dance to celebrate.

All right missy! 1st off, you stink! Well not really, but I'm jealous as we won't be going back to WDW till Fall 09 and we haven't been since fall 05 :headache: But then I try to remember that we'll be able to pay cash for it and not come home to debt so I guess I have to remember the positive side too.

Update on the whole teacher comment thing. It has been eating at me - normal parenting trick :worried: I know. But, conveniently Tori had her annual checkup at her pediatricians on Thursday. I LOVE my kids pedi and he always has a chat session - anything you want to talk about, any concerns, etc. I wrote on a piece of paper what her teacher had said and then wrote ??? after it. When he came in to the exam room he said he has NEVER seen that in the 6 yrs he has been her doctor. He said that she is outgoing, never been afraid to talk to him or his colleagues, happy child. So I am somewhat relieved and wonder if the teacher was trying to say something to the effect of helping her build her confidence level or whatnot and just didn't use the proper wording. I wish she didn't wait for the final day of school to bring it up (she didn't say that at the 1/2 year or parent teacher conference) as I cannot really track her down till the fall IF I wanted to question it but there's not much I can do about that now. I am just taking a sit back and key an eye on things mindset and I know that my pedi will be there 100% if we need him to get involved or see someone about it but I'm not as upset as I was at the beginning of the week over it. I do think that come fall I will talk to her teacher about the comment. Not so much to ask her the thought behind it but to voice my concern over dropping something like that on a parent on the last day of school and putting it on a permanent record that the child will want to look back on while growing up. We keep their school stuff in a box and they like to look through what they've done over the years. We've shown them OUR (Mine & DH's) report cards from when we were kids, and I just don't want her to read that remark and be bothered by it. If that comment was on a separate note vs. her actual report card I would have felt better. More as a I know your new at this and as a parent I would appreciate knowing ASAP about ____ and having the opportunity to discuss it and a childs report card, esp kindergarten is usually a memory keeper and to try to not negatively reflect that child on it, if you KWIM. Maybe come up with a separate form she could use with recommendations/suggestions/goals for the child.

hey freaps,
Happy Saturday to everyone.
Welcome back from WDW. I hope you had fun. I so need to go back but it looks like it will be a while.:( I want to try in sneak in a long weekend with DD but my DRs said no travel for now:furious:

As for me I am just going to chill out this weekend. My DR checked my burn a couple of times this week and it seems worse. I am having what they called radation recall. It seems my skin is self cooking. I told them if I could get my kitchen to self cook I would be one happy women:rotfl2:
So I will just have to hope it gets better soon. If not I think I am going to stay out of work for awhile due to the pain getting worse.
But staying home I will go

. So hopefully they come up with something.

Sounds like you are emotionally and mentally ready to move on but your body isn't there yet. Sounds like staying home from work will do you some good, if you can afford it. Take a break and spend some time doing something different...than work. :thumbsup2 Keep us posted...let us know what they come up with to halt that radiation-bounce-around! :cloud9:

Rest up and heal, girl!! I'm sure its got to be hard not being able to do just whatever you want, but all in do time! :)

Its a rainy day here in St. Pete. Sure makes it hard to get anything done when all I want to do is sit and watch it rain and nap! But I did get my kitchen sink repaired (I think!). Now I just have to wait to make sure it ain't leaking anywhere else.

Hey all! It's a rainy day here as well. We're not too far from you...about an hour south, so I know the feeling. BLAH. We have done nothing constructive other than feeding ourselves popcorn:: and switching tv channels.:happytv: YUCK! It seems like it may be clearing up so maybe we'll make it out of the house at some point in time! :confused3 :car: :confused3 I hope so... this kind of weather makes me yucky

Hey Kellie! Sorry you do not have a green light for travel yet. But believe me, if your skin is still 'cooking', you do not want to be the the heat. It was hot down there! :scared1:
The World was great! I am always so impressed with all the CM's there- there are the 1-2 who stand out as not having the 'right' magical personality, but for the most part it is happiness from dawn to dusk :goodvibes . The one funny encounter we had was in France. We ended our 5 year personal protest and went to the pavillion in search of candy (my boys were on a World Showcase candy hunt this trip- we came home with quite a haul :cool1: ). In France we went to the shop at the back of the courtyard, by the bakery. My DS12 asked the man there if they had any candy. He replied (imagine your favorite Inspector Clouseau voice- it helps) "We do not have any candy here", and looked at my boy like he just pooted. I asked if there was any chocolate in the France pavillion. He replied, "We only have French specialties. They are in the wine shop." Then he turned on his heel and walked away from us. We busted out laughing :rotfl: . Each of my boys picked out a box of Maxim's chocolates, but I'm not sure we are worthy of eating them :rotfl2: .
I'll give more of an update tomorrow. I'm so zonked from unpacking, and me and the boys are going to watch the first Pirates movie. The ride was closed during our trip, so we are watching in tribute. popcorn::
The new Toy Story ride is great!! It is a must do but crazy busy. More later.....:hippie:

I just ate our last two Maxim's chocolates from our December trip yesterday :( (hoping the kids will have forgotten there were a few left!!) My kids were on a chocolate hunt as well around WS so I know what a haul you had

Enjoy your movie!
