Bath & Body Works cancelled my ordered! I'm very upset because they made it sound questionable. I blasted them an email back but who knows if they'll respond.

Honey you can vent about the school bus to me anytime! Vent away

OMG, school just started yesterday and tomorrow I have to go down to the School District office and tell them what to do! LOL!

They opened a new high school and have now split the county in half, (high) school-wise. We live about 5 miles from the edge of town and 3 miles from the new high school so we are eligible for the bus route no matter what. DS did not want to change to the new school as he is a junior this year and his older brother graduated from the other school and he wanted to, too. After going up the ladder to the top, there was nothing we could do to keep him in the other school so he already had an attitude about school starting.

Yesterday morning, I take him to the bus stop and wait for the bus but it never comes so I take him to school. I can't get ahold of the transportation department all day because their answering machine hangs up on you after it answers the calls. I call all day and call the School District main office twice just trying to find out if there will be a bus after school or if I need to go pick him up. On the second call, they take my info to the transportation department (they are in the same building) and they will call me back as to what the bus situation is. After I hang up, DS calls and says they are being released early but he doesn't think the bus is coming for the early release and he will have to wait for about an hour for the bus to come to the school...so, I go get him and bring him home.

DH takes DS to school this morning with the understanding he would catch the bus after school (because I want him to introduce himself to the bus driver so they know what each other looks like). DS doesn't drive yet so he will be using the bus until he gets his driver's license. An hour and 15 minutes after school is out, DS calls me and says he doesn't think the bus he is on will get him home. WHAT?? It is the bus he is supposed to be on, but the driver tells him she will not be driving over by our house and she will be dropping him off a few miles away and I am to come and get him. WHAT???

Come to find out, the bus has taken him from the school on Reserve, up Hwy. 93 half way up to Whitefish, back down Farm To Market Road and will be dropping him off at the elementary school about 2 miles south of us and I need to go pick him up.

I call the transportation department when I get home and they begin by telling me I am wrong before they even look into their handy-dandy little computer! Once they find DS and our info in the computer, they are telling me that he was on the right bus and the bus driver was wrong. They give me the driver's supervisor info and tell me to contact him and straighten it all out. WHAT!!??? I call the supervisor twice and catch him on the second call. He tells me the school district did away with our bus route right after school ended in June but I went into the transportation office in July and got his paperwork and the bus number.

So, tomorrow, I am taking him to school, dropping him off, and heading over to the school district transportation department to let them know they have canceled DS's bus route and ask what they plan to do next.

There, now, wasn't that fun!??

Rocket Science it aint But it seems like lately school bussing is like pulling teeth.....slow and painful

I spent the rest of this evening contemplating to myself as to what other arrangements we will be making for DS to get to and from school. Things were alot easier before our older son left for college and he didn't mind transporting little brother around. We got too used to our independence, me thinks!

What happened with your school? I found the thread...I'll get myself updated!

Funny you should mention coffee! DH left the empty bag of coffee on the counter yesterday- I am ASSUMING that is a man's way of saying "we need more coffee dear!"

Anyway- this morning I had to tear into the DD coffee to make enough for our daily 5 scoops! Strange! I was not crazy about it! I LOVE DD coffee when I go there, I wonder why it did not taste the same?! Could it be like when we were small, if mom made a sandwich for you it was like a FEAST however, when we would make it, it was a piece of cheese slapped between 2 slices of cardboard

I also have the Mr Coffee sample ready to go for tomorrow.

I guess I better get my lazy BUTT to BJs and pick up our regular HUGE bag of Millstone Columbian Supreme so we can enjoy our morning coffee for the weekend!

Madd - DH did the same thing, he left the empty wrapper of Dunkin Donuts on the counter by the trash. I mean at least try to be discreet about it.

This is the message I got from BBW:

"Thank you for choosing BathandBodyWorks.com. Unfortunately, we were
unable to process this order due to questions pertaining to your account. We
found it necessary to cancel your order"

When I emailed them back asking why they did this, they replied that I needed to call them. I really don't feel like arguing with anyone today (I'm leaving in 3 days and trying to get myself in the Disney frame of mind:wizard: )

I think their getting hit with lots of orders, I know there's a thread specifically on BBW and I've seen other talk on different internet boards.

Sounds like a very valid excuse......crack in the sugar, I can see it .....but I do not use sugar!

Maybe the crack is ground DIRECTLY into the coffee!

I think we should put your DH in charge of the investigation!

OMG! To add to todays' craziness- Just got a call from the little Blockbuster recording telling me if I do not return my movie I am going to be charged! (they have me on their speed dial!)

When will the insanity end!

You get emails with invites to join a campaign - it can be a new product line of an existing item or a new item entirely. Basically the company sends you a buzz kit. The buzz kit usually contains the product(s) they are looking to to promote for you to try, coupons to pass out to friends/family, and sometimes samples to give out as well. Then you are supposed to take that kit and "buzz" about the item to friends, family, coworkers, etc.

So far I have had the opportunity to get involved in probably 10 campaigns. Some of the items we have received:
Pledge Duster - came with 1 duster kit, coupons
Windex Wipes - full size package for me, single samples to hand out, coupons
Coppertone - 2 full size different coppertone products, coupons for both products
Hilshire Farms Salad Kits - coupons for 2 free kits and then $1 off coupons for friends/family
Take 5 Candy Bars - a box of about 30 sample bars to hand out/try
TV Guide - a 6 month subscription to TV guide & coupons to hand out for $ off TV guide in stores.
Eucerin Replenishing Lotion - full size lotion for me, about 20 sample lotions to pass out with coupons.

After you "buzz" the item you are supposed to report back to the "hive" and they award you points. You can then use those points to redeem for merchandise or make a donation to certain organizations. I haven't redeemed points yet but the products alone make it worth it!

I should be working but finally I decided I had to jump in on the conversation site and voice a couple of opinions. I hope I do not hurt anyone’s feelings, just wanted to give maybe another viewpoint….

I do understand the mods cautioning us about our postings regarding business sites. After all, they do not want us to be shut down or threatened for improper use. But I also know that a lot of us are eligible for the various business sites – so I think the responsibility lies with us – perhaps we should only request samples we really want and not request every single item we see.

Next item that is gnawing at me – Freebie site conversation; I do enjoy reading the conversations but not particularly on the "Freebie site"; a quick note is one thing but sometimes the conversation goes on for pagesssss – and I think that is what the “Freap Chat” site was created for. I know that when I am at work and want to spend a break catching up on freebies it is annoying to read through pages of conversation – and then my break is over and I have not seen even one new sample to try.

As indicated, I really do enjoy reading about everyone' personal lives - after all, we become friends here, but personally, I like the "freebie site" to be somewhere I can quickly visit and this site "Freap site" to be a place for sitting with a cup of coffee and visiting with everyone.

Just a thought.

I was smart and married a non-coffee drinker so my DD packet that came in the mail is MINE, ALL MINE (insert evil laugh here!)

And an off the wall statistic...Did you know that there are roughly 3x as many Liquor stores as there are coffee places like DD/Starbucks. Where people will comment that there is a Dunkins on every corner, nobody really notices how many liquor stores there really are The next time you go for a drive, try to count how many there are on your regular route vs. coffee joints
