FP+ currently down so mad

I'm in Ak today, it's a mess. App is completely down, lines are 50 deep.

The system has been spotty all week, this is off the charts though.

Tragic+ sucks. Seals the deal, we won't be back till they fix this I'm tired of being their guinea pig.

The only saving grace has been low crowd levels.

It does suck when it doesn't work, just like anything else computer driven. But I have now been to WDW on 3 trips using MB and FP+ and have not had any issues at all. (knocks on wood for my trip in a couple of weeks)

As well they shouldn't be!

But around here more often than not folks love to jump on the OPs and point out how it is their own fault they didn't turn lemons into lemonade. I'm just here to agree with OP that this stuff stinks!!

Can't think of one who would blame a Disney guest for an entire system being off line nor lack empathy when it does. I don't know why anyone would suggest or outright state that.

I concur that this stuff stinks.

I would definitely complain and see if they will do anything for you. However to the poster who stated this happens almost weekly, hardly. This is the first I have heard of such a large problem. Doesn't make it suck any less for those in the parks now, but lets not try and scare off people by exaggerating the issue.

To my knowledge there was one other report of this occurring. I don't know how they compare on scale. But it certainly is not a regular occurrence.

The fact that it is occurring does stink for all affected.

My "My Disney Experience" stopped working on both app and PC shortly after I did the iPhone upgrade on Thursday. The only thing I could see on MDE was my ticket media. Could not see Resort reservations (and I currently have 4), ADRs or FPPs. I reported it to Disney IT twice on Thursday and again on Friday and was told that it was "being looked into". Many others are now reporting the same thing. I was told that everything was still "ok" and they could see it on their end. Other's were told that it was a "display error due to the update."

Regardless, it seems to have spread and it may be that they have taken the whole system down to try to correct whatever they did wrong in the update. Disney IT continues to be a frustrating experience. I am arriving at WDW tomorrow for a three day trip and am getting my email confirmations of my ADRs so at least I know the system still exists (lol).

Hoping that they have it all fixed soon but it's already been three days so that's not very encouraging.

In the studios and the FP+ system is down. I can't access anything on the mde app. All the kiosks are shut. They have 3 cast members in the entire park handing this. Disney forces us to use this system and they cannot keep the system running. This is piss poor. I'm in the IT business so I know it's not that difficult to create systems that stay up 24/7. Ruining my day. Because of this lines are way long. 35 minutes for the great movie ride. Back to the pool!
Remember, the FP+ is just a free supplement to the fun and excitement you can have just being in the parks. That's why single day admission is only $105. You don't NEED to have any FP+s to have a good time. Enjoy meeting people in lines and slow down and smell the roses...

At least you can still charge to your MagicBand!

Keep in mind today's crowd level is probably a 2. I'm in line for safari mickey and minnie and it's a 5= minute wait time.

We are having a good time but ONLY because the park is virtually dead (minus the outrageous lines for fp+ kiosks and ppl).

Previous op is correct, they can see existing FP ressies but that's it.

Park admission wasn't affected.

Haven't bought anything yet on a tragic band.

Thank you for the update. I wonder if DHS, where OP was, was similar.

Maybe I misread, but I thought they said no FP at all. But maybe that is just making them.

Larryz - This is true for some people, especially people like me who go often, but let's be honest - Disney has pushed the whole MDE system and expect visitors to use it. It's not just the FPP. I can't see my ADRs, I can't pre-order my planned breakfast at BOG, I can't make FPP changes on the fly.

And for many people, it's a big deal if they don't get to do 7DMT or Test Track or whatever it is that they only get one opportunity to do.

There is really no excuse for the continued mayhem that MDE has caused.

If the crowd level is indeed a 2 as someone posted, you really don't need FP+.

Takeaway here is definitely take screenshots of FP+ and reservations as backups...just in case. At least until the system is stable.

Very true. I still print everything off and bring it with me to the parks. Before FP+ I have been in the parks when kiosks have gone off line, so it always good to have old fashioned back up (in that case it was cash).

Just FYI, today is a 6 crowd level (according to TP with AK being a 7.). I think Josh has it as 6 as well, but I didn't check.

I also just want to clarify that charging, admission and existing FastPasses are being honored, at least at AK!

This is hardly the first time MDE has crashed at the parks.

That's only from my on site observations at AK.

Buses were overflowing for other parks this AM. We were the only ones from CBR going to AK when we left.

I have two other friends on property today , it's much busier at epcot from his texts.

The point of not needing fp+ today is moot when talking about the tragic system. It's a SATURDAY .

Fwiw, KJ safaris is currently 50.minutes. We just went thru fp and saw the standby time.

AK has short hours and an hour in line for this eats up a huge chunk of your day.

Fyi tragic plus stands seem to be down all over here, CMs are having to scan using handheld devices instead.

..... which is why they never should have changed their system to run ride access through an IT system we all knew was less than stellar.

The system is definitely coming back up now, but I'm sure the results will linger. I hope everyone is able to enjoy the rest of the day. I have to say, just from an observations standpoint ... I truly believe that 50 of people in the park didn't even know the system was down!
