Just checking to see if I am correct -

With FP+ all your FP have to be in the same park, right? So if we are starting the day in AK and ending up in MK we have to pick one or the other for the initial FP? If we use all three, can get more through the app or kiosk, can that be in the second park?

We have an 8-day trip coming up and are Hopping for the first time ever. :cool1: But I am going slightly crazy with the FP+ system. AK is open 9-6, and MK til midnight. We'll go to both parks.

I already have one day scheduled a AK, with FP for Dinosaur, Safari, and the Character meet & greet. We plan to do EE first thing in the morning in the standby line. And i figure we can get in the shows without a FP.

So for day #2 in AK, I got FP for EE, Primeval Whirl, and Dinosaur (again if kids want to ride a second time). But we'll be at MK all night. Should I do those FP at AK on Day #2, or save them from MK in the evening?

If it were me... You have 2 days at AK. I would have gotten for the first day Safari, EE, either M&G or Dinosaur. Then on Day #2 get ones at MK. So much more to do there, and so many more things need a FP.

I have not used FP+ yet. Still planning my upcoming trip and haven't been since 2012. So, my opinions are based on reading here for hours a day and not using the system yet. LOL!

That's what I was thinking. Keep my FP for Day 1, and do EE on standby first thing in the morning.

We;d have the whole afternoon to do some shows and see other things. Then, do standby for anything else we missed on Day 2, and grab some more FP for MK that night.

Thanks for the input!

One small point- you can't use the app to book your 4th FP. Number 4 and beyond need to be done at a kiosk. It can be a kiosk in any park as long as your first 3 are used/expired.

I am not a FP+ expert by any means :) I've only used it once. mesaboy2 has a very thorough FP+ guide.

Just want to clarify one thing. As this post states, you can't use the MDE app to book your fourth (and subsequent) FPs - you have to use a kiosk.

But you have to actually be present in the park where you want to get your new FPs (meaning that if you start at AK and want to get your additional FPs in MK, you actually have to be ATMagic Kingdom and use a kiosk there for the new FPs). It's a big pain, really - you have to travel all the way to the second park and then use a kiosk there.

Thank you for clarifying. This is good to know that I need to be in the park where I want the other FP.

They really don't make this easy. :(

You're rope drop at AK both mornings?

I wouldn't fp anything at AK. We park hop every trip and AK is the easiest park not to use FP+- especially if you rope drop. I'd make EE my first ride one morning, Safari the next morning. All the other rides, early in the morning were virtual walk ons.

FP+ is much more valuable at the MK.

Yes, we are there at rope drop both mornings. On Day 1 @ AK, that will be our only park for the day (MK closes early for MVMCP), so I am ok getting the FP for that day.

I have gone and changed Day2 to evening FP at Magic Kingdom. I am thinking, based on crowd calendars and reading these boards, that we will really only spend about a day and a half at AK.

It's a smart idea to make your Day 2 evening FP at MK. When I was in WDW last month, I made most of my FP for the mornings at one park, thinking I could get more FP later at the second park after hopping. But later in the day, there are not many FP left, certainly not for the E-ticket rides.

I agree with the sentiment above -- save the FP's for MK. Based on your signature, OP, it looks like you're going the first week in December? It shouldn't be crowded at all. I agree that it may serve you best to head into AK at rope drop (which you say you're going to do anyway) and then do the Safari first, followed by Everest.

We were there two weeks ago (Halloween Week) and we didn't need to use a single FastPass I had booked. Even for our Safari FastPass from 915-1015, there was zero wait for standby. (Admittedly, this was quite a surprise for me.) Similarly, Dinosaur and Primeval Whirl were walk-ons at 11am.

Having done this FP+ this once now, if you plan on being at AK at rope drop, I'd do the Safari, then Everest, then maybe your character meet and greet, and then hop over to Dinoland. You'll be done all of that before 11am leaving you plenty of time for shows.

EDIT: I missed the post that said AK was your only park that day. In that case, certainly use them...
