Fourth of July Fireworks only on July 4th?

My DFi are going on our honeymoon from July 3rd to the 10th. On Independence Day, we would like to avoid the crowds as much as possible (I know...I know) so we might sacrifice much of the celebration. It's not a big deal for us as we aren't American. However, DIS has included the times for Spectro and Fireworks in its special events section from July 2nd to July 5th. So, my question is, does Disney typically only have Independence Day celebrations on July 4th or do they happen for a longer period of time aka from July 2nd to the 5th? If we could see them on a night when it wouldn't be so crowded, we might just go for that. Thanks in advance for any information you might be able to supply.

We were at Disney July 4th 2003 (from Jun 21st - Jul 5th) and they only had the special fireworks celebrations on July 4th. The rest of our visit included the normal every summer night at Disney fireworks.

Thank you Tori. That's what I thought. I guess that's why I don't understand why the 2nd to the 5th are listed under special events.

We'll be there the same time and don't want to join the insanity of the crowds. Where are you staying. We'll be at the GF watching the fireworks from our balcony. If you aren't staying at a monorail resort I know there is a great spot by the marina at the GF where you can watch the fireworks. We previously had a gv room at the GF and would go down at night to watch the fireworks and grab a Mickey bar from Gasparillas. There are lots of tables and chairs there and you have a great view. Hope this helps.

We were there on July 4th 2003 also. Only special fireworks on the fourth that year maybe each year its different. We had PS for Narcossees at 730 on the 4th. You could not get into the parking lot without a ps and they were checking id for everyone at the gate. When we got to the restaurant they had security there and only people with ps's were allowed there the marina was also closed and no one was allowed on it. Try to get a priority seating somewhere on the monorail route or you will not be allowed to be at those resorts. It was the best fireworks show I have ever been to so try not to miss it

Wow Robin! Thanks so much for the suggestion. That would work perfectly with our plans. We are staying at All-Star Sports and obviously wouldn't be able to see them from there. I think this will work out nicely. We are thinking of doing AK that day to avoid the crowds. Then we could head over to the GF to watch the fireworks. Is this spot easy to find?

Yes, it's very easy to find. If you have trouble just ask a CM where either Gasparilla's or the marina is. You could get a PS at Narcoose's (sp?), Citricos or if you want something less expensive 1900 Park Fare - Cinderella's Gala Feast or the Grand FLoridian Cafe. Have a great time. Perhaps we'll see you there. Look for the green ribbons!

I didn't even notice before that you'll be there on your honeymoon. Then you'll definitely want a great spot to watch the fireworks. What a wonderful memory. Congratulations and Best Wishes. We'll be easy to spot - three kids (oldest 7), frazzled looking parents with lime green ribbons!

We love the fireworks in MK on the 4th. Last year we went to discovery cove on the 4th. We were stayng at the contemporary and got back in enough time to watch the fireworks from CR.
