Do I have to worry about being 'seasick'? I know the ride is about 1/2 hour long, but is it really rocky? I will probably take a Bonine anyways, but just wondering.

I have been on it several times and have never been sick. I really don't remember how rocky it was though. I used to get car sick quite easily when I was a child and young adult. Even riding a city bus was torture!
I have also done the jet boat ride in the whirlpools, talk about bumpy. I didn't get sick but once was enough for me!

I've been fine. Was also fine on cruise ship as long as I wasn't sight line with water.

Its a big boat and doesn't feel rocky to me. Turning the boat does lean just a bit. It probably depends on how sensitive you are. For example if you can go on a friendship boat or the liberty belle at WDW your probably fine

Not rocky at all, plus you will be so amazed at the sight of the enormous falls in front of you, you will not be thinking of your stomach...

We went a week ago tomorrow! No seasickness at all, but be prepared to be soaked! Even with the ponchos -- your lower legs, feet and face. Have fun! It was a thrill.

I did not have a problem with sea sickness. I get sea sick relatively easily too. We did stand on the bow - DS wanted the full effect.

I get motion sickness pretty badly and I was absolutely fine! I loved it. Now about the seagulls/pigeons once we were on land however....yes, they have direct aim :rolleyes2 of COURSE they waited until I was out of all the protective rain gear. so my advice is be more wary of droppings than motion sickness

My mom gets motion sickness absurdly easily and rode this without issue. I don't remember it being rocky or rough at all...maybe a little leany. Tons of fun though, as long as you have your poncho on!

Have been more times that I could remember and no one in our family has ever had any issues. If it is a really windy day sometimes you can feel the turns a little more but nothing that would make you seasick! I LOVE MOTM but agree you WILL get wet!

I've heard as long as you have site of the horizon you are ok.

My dd is sooo motion sick, but no problem on this. It is an experience of a lifetime not to be missed. I will never or get taking my Dad on this trip as he took his glasses off finding the place on the boat h could get hit itch spry. I have not noticed since that trip ny spray?

I loved all the rainbows just everywhere you look. You get soooo close to the falls.

We just got back from NF yesterday. I don't think you need to worry about getting sea sick. I didn't have a problem, and I am someone who does get queasy on boats. I would wear waterproof sandals though... Your feet will get soaked!!! We all had Tevas on, so it wasn't a problem. I would also prepare yourself for how expensive things are there. Food is crazy expensive. I figured about 40% more expensive and heavily taxed on the Canadian side. I don't know if the same is true on the NY side.

If you are looking for other things to do....

We also went to the Oh Canada, Eh? show and it was a lot of fun and the food was excellent!!! Expensive though.,,

My kids really enjoyed the Clifton Hill Fun Pass and MarineLand too... I was surprised it was so nice.

DH loved visiting the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto. It was about 1 1/2 hour drive.

If you need ideas on where to eat or have any questions, PM me while it is still fresh in my mind. ;)

Have fun!!!

I get motion sickness very easily. Can't even turn my head in the car for a few seconds without feeling it.

I didn't have the slightest problem with Maid of the Mist. Don't think I even took my dramamine either...

OP here - thanks for all the responses. Now, I can go on this and not worry! Thanks for the hints, too.

We plan on getting the Niagra Falls Adventure Pass(or whatever they call it these days)so we will also be doing the Behind the Falls and a couple other things.
