For goodness sake, pay for Hopping!

Also, at the Animal Kingdom, the lack of a big night show bothers me, so when I go there, we usually hop to Epcot for the evening an Illuminations. As much as I love the rides and shows, the nighttime spectaculars are our absolute favorite things at WDW, and we try to see Wishes, Spectromagic, Illuminations, and Fantasmic multiple times on each trip. My favorite night was the night we saw both Illuminations and Fantasmic the same night... we were near France for Illuminations at 9:00, left via the International Gateway after to the show, took the boat launch to MGM, and made it there about 9:45 for the second (10:30) showing of Fantasmic. What a great night.

I'd love to see the AK come up with some big "nighttime spectacular" show. Even if fireworks aren't possible, the Imagineers can get creative and come up with something.

ITA on all of the above! I too have done night shows at different parks on the same night. I also think lasers, fountains, lights, and music should be doable at AK. If nothing else, bring the Main Street Electrical Parade to AK (though the parade name doesn't fit too well).

I debated on the hopper option on our last trip. We decided against hopping and didn't miss it at all. I did buy an extra day (very cheap to go from 6 to 7 day pass...$3 compared to $35 to hop) just in case we missed something we wanted to go see on our day off.

I think I'm being covinced not to park hop, and this is the post that has got me. I'm going to be in Orlando for at least 7 days, and I know that I won't be in Disney parks every hour of every day. If you buy a 4-day ticket, it only costs $4 to add another whole day. It's even less to add more days.

Rather than spend $43 to park-hop every day, I may just spend $4 to see Spectromagic on a night when I otherwise would not have been in the parks.

We have been to WDW a gazillion times and almost NEVER hop. We feel that the time you spend in transit is wasted. Plus, once our kids get to one park they don't WANT to leave until they have done it all. Soooo, different strokes for different folks!

This was EXACTLY what we did, especially once the MYW tickets came out and there's so little difference in adding an extra day or two. Have fun!
