FOR FUN: The 5 Things I Hate At WDW That Everyone Else Seems To Love

I only have one...That annoying girl (Stacey??) on the resort tv. I don't actually "hate" her as a person (I don't know her personally) but I REALLY dislike the goofy way she acts and stuff she says (I know it's probably not her fault...she's probably just saying what's on the script)!!:headache:

You'll be happy to know then that they've recently "improved" the Stacey video. I thought it was cheesy before, but it's just boring and weird now - still Stacey though, just with zero personality. :confused3

My Top 5

1. Turkey Legs - Dh and i each got one and both thought they were DISGUSTING  It's been a few years and now he keeps tying to convince me we need to try them again because so many others like they we must have gotten a bad batch :rolleyes1 I keep telling him he can, I'll have an icecream.

2. Lights, Motor, Action - the longest, hottest, most boring show I've ever seen.

3. AKL - we went over on our trip last month and I was SOOO glad we bought DVC at BLT. It was hot, dusty and I didn't see any animals :confused3

4. Nemo the musical - really? what drugs do you need to be on to enjoy this? it's CREEPY and LONG

5. parades - other than Spectomagic. WHat's the point of steaming in the sun waiting for a bunch of characters to ride by and wave? Why not just go see them in their air conditioned greeting areas?? Ok, I may be biased on this one since I once passed out watching a parade and had to be rolled thru the MK on a stretcher to the first aid area, but still...

Hi

OK.....

1. Le Cellier
2. Chef Mickey's
3. Nemo Musical at AK
4. Judi Dench commentary on Spaceship Earth - sounds like my gran!
5. Jiko

Rich

1. Peter Pan-the line is ALWAYS 45 mins and for what? To "fly" over minatures in black lights-I just dont get it.

2. Liberty Tree Tavern-I've eaten there a few times mac n cheese is not a dinner side dish-not in my house. Thats a quick kids lunch. I'm not a fan of family style-to me that means serving the kids-on vacation i dont wanna serve- I wanna be served.

3. The pool at CSR. I just got back-it wasnt all that. Big deal - a slide. It wasnt all the hype. And the "dig site" it was empty. Not 1 kid played there on the swings or the sand and we spent 5 hour there Saturday.

4. Lights, Motor Action Stunt Show-just not a fan.

5. The Girls dressing up like princesses walking around full of glitter in 95 degree heat-not one girl this past weekend looked happy to be all done up, and neither did the parents having to listen to them complain. The glitter goes everywhere-on everyone-left behind on all the seats. And to be on line near one to get all scratched up by their costumes-its offensive. My son kept complaining because some girl in a cinderella dress kept coming over by him and he was getting all itchy and scratched by the dress. I'm just over the bibbidid bobbidi boutiqued kids-and I have a 7 yr old daughter.

I love reading everyone's responses! I think Turkey Legs is becoming the most hated thing, LOL! I've never had one, but I always cringe when I see someone trying to naw their way through one. Blech!

I prefer to think of my list as the top 5 things I wouldn't do again if I didn't love my kid so much:
1- Stitch's Great Escape- actually my son will probably never want to go on it again either as he absolutely flipped out on it...and I couldn't do a thing to help thanks to the harness. He used to love my Stitch voice...:confused3
2- Small World - count me in the list of people who got stcuk once upon a time and driven slightly mad.
3- Aladdin's carpets- takes too long to get on for going in circles...at least Dumbo's an icon
4- AKL - it's lovely, but for the money, I'd go for location
5- Parades (save for Spectro and Party parades like Christmas) - I'd rather hit another ride while everyone acts like brain damaged monkeys along the parade route (no offense to any brain damaged monkeys on the boards)

OOPS-kinda forgot one.

It's Tough to be a Bug

This show creeps the crap out of me!!!!:scared1:

I have a SERIOUS problem with spiders and such...sooo...yeah. not so good for me!

I am trying to think of things that I feel are really over-hyped on the Dis, but once I experienced them I either didn't like them or just thought, "Meh." This is in no particular order.

1. Wishes. It is a nice fireworks show, but to me it is just a fireworks show. I don't get all the people who are like, "Oh, Wishes makes me cry every time I listen to the music." Seriously, it's just a fireworks show. It's a really nice fireworks show, but still just a fireworks show.

2. Turkey Legs. Now these I do find absolutely revolting. They have them at a theme park near my hometown, and I've always thought they were gross. I can't imagine wanting to eat one of these things in the Florida summer heat.

3. Stacey on the resort tv. I have nothing really against her, but I thought the show was kind of annoying. I can't figure out why people on the Theme Parks board seem obsessed with her.

4. Dole Whips. Yeah, I thought these were kind of gross, too. I don't usually eat things that are so artificially flavored and sweetened, and I thought it was too sweet and fake tasting.

5. Dumbo. It is a cute ride, and I can see taking your kids on it to ride first thing. However, I am always amazed at the number of adults who say, "Oh, I just have to wait in line to ride Dumbo. It is my favorite ride." Really? You just go around in a circle. I'm not opposed to doing it if there's no line, but I can't imagine waiting in line and putting such an emphasis on this ride.

There are lots of other things that I think are way over-hyped on the Dis, but I'll stop at 5. It's funny, too, because as I read other people's lists, I thought, "Oh, but I really like that attraction!" I think it's fun to see how everyone has such different opinions. That's why I think it is a good idea to try everything out for yourself just once to see how you feel about it.

5. parades - other than Spectomagic.

:lmao: I agree with this one as well!! OMG you passed out??:scared1:That doesn't sound like fun...but you got to be in your own parade to first aid :rotfl:

My kids and DH and I aren't really into the parades and we use the parade time to go on rides while a lot of people are watching them!:thumbsup2

OOPS-kinda forgot one.

It's Tough to be a Bug

This show creeps the crap out of me!!!!:scared1:

SAME HERE! lol when I was little the huge Hopper scared the living daylights out of me and then getting stung.... not good. My mom and I had to leave the theater halfway through the show- I couldn't take it!

1. Parades: We've seen ONE parade in our 5 trips and it was totally by mistake. Spectromagic at the end of a very long, tiring day. We sat down on the curb for 2 hours and the parade crowd just formed around us. :rotfl:

2. Dole Whips: DH loves them but I hate how they separate. Yuck.

3. Waiting in HUGE lines for characters: There's way more things I (and DH and DS) would rather be doing with our time.

4. Kali River Rapids. What a disappointing ride.

5. PIN codes. I don't hate them, I just never get them. And I own DVC, so it's a moot point, anyway.

I LOVE YOU!!! Another person who hates cheese! Its so hard to get by in this cheese loving world, but in my mind it is mouldy butter, and tastes gross!

We should set up a club!

May I join your club?
And here I was the only who I didn't like cheese, especially on hamburgers!
I will admit I can tolerate on a couple of things like pizza or baked potatoes.

1. The Parades - The ONLY parade I have ever liked was Tapestry of Nations.
2. Artist Point - Overpriced, overrated, mediocre food, mediocre service.
3. Grey Goose Slushes - Vodka is a NEUTRAL SPIRIT. Good Vodka (Grey Goose is ok, but doesn't hold a candle to high end Stoli or Jean Marc XO) has as little taste as possible... The better the vodka, the less the taste. I guarentee, I could put a Grey Goose Slush and a slush made with cheap vodka and 99% of people won't be able to tell the difference.
4. Lights, Motor, Action - They tore down New York streat for THAT?
5. The Stupid Hat at DHS - Really? Not even a ride or attraction? A freaking Pin Station? You could have AT LEAST done the Walt Museum in the Big Hat.

Honorable Mention - Only because they are no longer there... The Words on top of Spaceship Earth. Thank you for fixing that travesty.

The birthday cake castle - VOMIT!

This is a great thread idea!

1) Soarin. I guess I'm one of the few on this, but I've been on it twice and it feels like I'm on a porch swing while someone sprays Glade in my face. Never really got it... Maybe I will on this coming trip.
2) Parades. Never got this one, even as a kid I'd be screaming to get back on the Haunted Mansion.
3) Dinoland U.S.A. It looks cheap to me
4) The New and Improved Tiki Room. I will never set foot in there again.
5) Buzz Lightyear. I was disappointed. The little blinky light is hard to see and the theme just seemed a bit tacky to me. Plus I miss "If You Had Wings". I'm gonna try it again and see. Sometimes my opinions change on a return visit so I try to stay openminded.

Let's see... I don't really hate these things, but they're things I tend to skip.

1. Parades - I've never been a parade person. I'd rather be on the rides. (The Halloween parade, however, is awesome.)

2. Fantasmic - I echo what some other people have said - I just don't think it's all that great. The way it's hyped I really expected something amazing. And it just...wasn't.

3. Peter Pan's Flight - I know tons of people love this ride, but I just don't get it, I guess. I'm also not a big fan of Peter Pan in general. I don't hate the ride, but I won't wait in those crazy long lines to ride it.

4. Tiki Room - I never liked the old one and I hate the new one even more.

5. Journey Into Imagination - Talk about ruining something... Yuck.

And the honorable mention is Snow White's Scary Adventure. I will never like this ride because I got the crap scared out of me when I was 5. The only thing I vividly remember from our trip is that part of the ride where the queen turns around and she has the ugly witch face. I was TERRIFIED. I closed my eyes for the rest of the ride and refused to ride it again until I was 15. When I have kids, I'm not taking them on that ride until they're at least 10! :rotfl:

Mine would have to be:

1. Stiches escape or its predecessor Ailien Encounter both are just plain dumb.

2. Parades in general, I see no point even the Christmas parade was OK. I do like what they do for the crowds however.;)

3. Fantasmic, just not that great overall. Dont get the whole hype of finding a dinner to get seating for a overated attraction.

4. WCC food was just OK and short of celebrating a birthday and some antics for that I really dont get it.

5. WL and Poly are tied for me. WL just to far out small rooms not me at all. Poly overun with kids, no hotub but they do have good food so I go over and deal with the chaos.

For those of you putting Stitch's Great Escape on your list, Please read the question .... "The 5 Things I Hate at WDW that Everyone Else Seems to Love."

I don't think Stitch qualifies because I don't know anyone that loves that ride, let alone everyone loving it. :rotfl:

I also thought of one more for my own list. Please add Tinkerbell Meet & Greet. I think they should have left Tink alone.

I hate the new Tiki room too. I love the original one in Disneyland (not just because I am a huge Walt fun, but just the simplicity of it is a nice change of pace in today's world) but this "new and improved" one makes me ANNNNGRY! The only thing I like about it is that it's a place to sit and cool down and I can find PLENTY of other ways to do that!!!

I was thinking that myself. :lmao: But! I was in an (online) argument with someone on another discussion board a while back because he and his friends looooooved Stitch's Great Escape. He kept telling me I just didn't "get it", and that's why I didn't like it. So there's at least a couple of people out there who like it. No accounting for taste, I guess. I have to admit, I really like the animatronic in there, but the actual attraction... um ... :confused3

I'm also shocked that I forgot to put the new Tiki Room on my list! I really do hate that. Hate it like poison.

:)Let's see.....hmmm...
1. Staying at a value resort because we actually like it there and then being dropped of at the furtherest point from the entrance. Heck at MK I could walk to CR and catch the monorail and be closer. Maybe that makes me sound really, really lazy. I personally think the hover chairs in Wall-E are awesome....a cold beverage cup holder and I am good to go.....now back on topic.
2. The attic in the Haunted Mansion that bride really creeps me out and usually our Doom Buggy stops right in front of her when the ride goes down:scared1:
3. Milkshake at the Sci Fi--why get one there when they are hand dipped at 50's Prime Time.
4. Having to get off the TTA, walk across the conveyer, just to get back on again. I fill really dumb when that happens.
5. The Figment thing at EPCOT.
