just wondering what the food is like? and also do you get snacks?

on previous visits have flown with virgin!!

sorry, never flown Thomson but lets face it the food can't surely be any worse then VA!!!:lmao: Have just looked at their website though and it does look like you have to pre-order your meals but it doesn't say about snacks. I would assume you would be able to purchase them if they are not included as I am sure they wouldn't miss it as an opportunity to obtain more money from you!!! :)

Just got back, flew with Thomson.

We had meals going out and only DD on return

Not the best

Kids
Sausage, smiley faces and odd looking beans, chewy bar.
Snack meal was cheese bun

On return she had fish fingers mash n dried peas.
Breakfast was kids yoghurt, muffin

Adults :scared1:
Chicken, veg n mash, bun, cheese n crackers
Second small meal cheese bun n muffin

Return
I heard pasta
Second small meal was yoghurt, etc

Other than that you have to purchase.

DD always buys a greggs to feed her :worship:

If there is one thing I have learnt from many years of flying: Take your own food unless you are really not fussy at all.

You are not going to get gourmet meals at 25000 ft and airline food, although some are better than others, is just .... well, airline food. It's edible (usually) and fills the gap, but I always take some snacks with us. DD will not eat on a plane anymore - at all.

That said, we had pretty decent food on CO this year, both ways. Food was hot and actually tasted really good and I must admit, I found myself really enjoying the meal on the outbound flight particularly.

But dont expect too much. The meals are prepared hours before take off and then kept warm for a further hour or so before served.

Also remember if you take fruit to eat on the plane, to leave it on there if you have any left over when you get to the US as you cannot take fruit into the country.

thank you guys.....i know airline food is not the best just wondered how many times they feed you :rotfl: didn't think you had to pre-order on long haul!! best i find out tomorrow lol

i will defo take something with me i am a fussy eater :rolleyes1

once again thank you....i've done nothing but ask questions today :worship:

Boots meal deal :thumbsup2

I usually save my advantage points so I can get 'free' meal deals at the airport. also Boots can't be beaten for drink prices, I always carry a couple of bottled drinks on the plane, if I don't drink them on the plane, they'll be hand for the destination.

I actually quite enjoy Virgin Atlantic Meals, but I always order the 'special' veggie meal, just wish they came with the lovely gu puddings like regular meals
