flydrive / dollar pre-register

I think I have messed up - we are travelling with TCD and have a Dollar rental car booked. My husband will be the main driver of the car but the holiday booking is in my name. I did the pre-registering using the link from TCD - but had to put it in my name as you can only put it in the lead name of the booking. It asked for my driving licence no - which it accepted, but it did not ask for my credit card info.

What do I do now? Do I now register with Dollar Express seperately? Do I register this in my name or my husbands? Not sure if I have messed this up - and unsure as to what to do next!!

Anyone have a clue?

Hi,, if i were you, I would register with Dollar express seperately under your husbands name, that way you have two choices of registration when you arrive. Can I ask you, where did you find the link on TCD website, I have been searching for it for ages and can't find it, I just went to the dollar website to register, but I would like to check it out to see if its any different.

It is under the My Holiday tab, click on pay balance and then it appears on the left in the menu.

My thoughts are that if you pre-register using this then it will speed things up but you have to get in the normal queue. I think that the Express thing sends you a card which means you register your credit card details etc and you can go in the quick queue.

You can add a current reservation to your express card - but I am not sure if I can add the reservation in my name to my husband's express - it's confusing!! In reality I won't be driving (too scared) but will be put down as an extra driver in case of emergency!!

Thanks so much for that!!! typical, that's the only place I didn't look
I can see your predicament, maybe if you get an express card in your name, if the reservation is in your name, as long as you are both insured to drive there shouldn't be a problem if you know what I mean?
As for driving in the US, I was pretty scared when we went for the first time last year, but I was on my own with my 3 kids so didn't have a choice, Its really not so bad!

ooh that's brave - going with 3 kids alone and driving!! I have 3 kids too - and find it hard enough to keep an eye on them with 2 adults.

I think I will do as you suggest and order the Express card in my name and sort the car hire out myself - and add my husband as an extra driver - and then let him do the driving!! (I may have a go in the car park - at least they are automatic -so don't have to worry about the gear stick being on the other side!).
