Florida Residents - Tornado Warning!

Polk County - just west of WDW has issued a tornado warning. One touched down in Lake Wales. I don't know of any DIS'ers in that area, but please be safe!

Hopefully nobody will be hurt!

It has been raining/storming most of the afternoon.
VERY humid this morning.
According to Weatherbug for tonight:
Considerable cloudiness in the evening then becoming partly cloudy. Scattered evening showers and thunderstorms. Some storms will contain very heavy rain and frequent cloud to ground lightning. Lows in the upper 60s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 40 percent.

Sounds like more of the same.
I am from the midwest. Takes me than Tornado warnings to scare me.

...and as I wrote the above post, the BIGGEST clap of thunder just rolled through. YIKES!!!

Hang on Steph! Hope it sails on by you. We had a pretty good thunderstorm earlier up here in Jacksonville. It looked like midnight outside at 3:00. But, it has since blown over just in time for the Jazz Festival downtown and Shrimp Festival in Fernandina.

It does look worse south of where Iam.
It's looking light just north of me.
Does have the tornado look about it.
Except no walls clouds, cold front as use to.

My son commented during a thunderstorm in Florida on our last visit -
"Wow, the have the REAL thunder in Florida!"

According to the news the worst is over. Still going to have rain until tomorrow morning.

About 3 weeks ago, we had some serious thunderstorms and very heavy rains. One house in our city was hit by lightning and that started a fire. The owner of the house is the Art teacher at older DS's school. She was able to escape with her dog, but lost 3 cats in the fire. Very scary! Since then, the kids keep asking if the same could happen to our house.

Well, we all survived! Debster, you're right. It was my very first Tornado Warning! Something else I'll have to get used to.

Now they are saying, they can't confirm a tornado touched down. We took our guests to Beaches and Cream in the rain. Illuminations went on as planned, we could see it in the distance as we were leaving the Beach Club.

This morning it is beautiful out! More storms tonight!

The thunder and lightning was amazing last night. Made the whole sky turn a funny blue/white when the lightning would strike. The thunder was loud enough to shake the dishes and pictures in our apartment!

Maddy didn't like it too much. She was upset because we turned off the tvs and computer.
