flights from Buffalo and Toronto

Our flight from Buffalo to Orlando and return to Buffalo when booked were direct flights. We booked through a travel agent and now have been informed by them that there are layovers both ways. One is 3 hours which isn't a big deal but 3 dks age 9,7,4 have never flown before and with recent events the extra take offs and landings might be a little much. (One child gets car sick ) My question is should I have the travel agent check flights out of Toronto and should I be questioning the costs of the flights? Any suggestions?

Hi, it's a good idea, just for more information. However, you'd be surprised how great kids are during stop-overs. My kids had to sit in the airport for a couple hours and they did great!

Hi melindaandrob: Unfortunately this is a common situation right now. As airlines try to decrease their costs, they are using a lot less direct flights and many people are in the same boat as you guys are. You can definitely have your TA check other flights for you, but depending on the tickets you purchased, you very well may not be able to get a better deal or flight times. Everyone seems to be looking for that great airline deal right now, and in fact their aren't all that many of them around. Airlines are finding other ways of cutting costs right now, instead of lowering fares. For instance, you probably know that most airlines are eliminating meal service on many domestic flights, both to save the cost of the food and the weight of the food, dishes etc. Hope things work out for you.

Make sure they have some children's gravol (otherwise known as dramamine) half an hour prior to departure. This helps prevents nausea, vomiting, dizziness and motion sickness.
