I just went onto JetBlue. I could not believe there are $49 flights for spring break week, the week before Easter. This is one of the busiest weeks. This coronavirus threat has really changed flight prices, understandably. The flights were from Newark, NJ to MCO

I wish I could get a price adjustment on mine! So frustrated to see the prices dip this extreme, and we can't get it adjusted.

Did you try? I got my tickets cancelled and a travel voucher given. Granted, they weren't super expensive tickets to start, but still. It was a courtesy because flights booked before about a week ago still have cancellation/change fees attached, but the agent has the discretion to waive them.

There are currently a couple of options for me around in the $65 range, depending on when I want to go. Since I can cancel without fee by the end of March, I hope I'll have a better handle on what the course the virus is taking. I'm a nurse, so while I'm concerned about illness, I'm more worried I'll come into passing contact with a sick person and end up unable to go because I'm quarantined, even if I remain perfectly healthy.

Would it be possible to cancel and get the funds into jetblue travel funds and turn around and rebook same flights? I mean they are less than half what I paid!

I don't see why not. You'll be getting travel vouchers that are good for a year from issue. They can be used on someone other than the person named on the ticket, too, in case you don't have exactly the same travel group next time. I think that's a nice difference from SW, which is great for rebooking in general, but you have to take the flight within a year from when you booked the original flight, not from when the travel voucher was issued, and must used the funds for the named passenger.

I am going to try! I just want to rebook the same flights, just at a lower price!

Cancel and rebook. I booked my flights months ago and when I called last night, they let me cancel and gave me credit. I booked with points so they let me put them back into my account. I would call and try.

I just got off the phone with Jet Blue and I was told we could not cancel our May fares and rebook with out paying the cancellation fee because we have the basic tickets. The prices listed online today is $411 cheaper than what we paid. It is really aggravating! We have never seen the prices so low!

They need to release the new calendar so I can book my Dec trip!

Sorry you had the experience. I guess the agent who cancelled my tickets this morning really was doing me a courtesy. When I asked if I could think about cancelling for a voucher, s/he said yes, but no guarantee the next agent would offer the same, so I took the voucher this morning.

I didn't ask about rebooking, though. I just wanted to see if my previously booked tickets could be canceled without fee if I needed to change. They were only $89/each when I bought them, so even the lower fares aren't that much of a savings. I was just looking for flexibility in case I have to reschedule my trip (again).

Thanks. I was thinking it wouldn't hurt to try another time!

I was told no. Its not like I dont want to fly with them! or asking for money back to my card, for those who it worked out I am glad it worked for you. I just have bad luck. I just keep reading that people were given funds back and they rebooked or are saving for future travel. ughh

Sorry. My tickets were a good price to start, so the added discount isn't that significant in my case. I just wanted to be able to book new tickets during the cancel without fee booking period that goes through the end of March so I can cancel if I need to.

My hotel reservation is non-refundable, so I'll lose money if I can't go, but if I can't go because of the virus, I would like to get as much back as I can.

As it is, this trip is rescheduled from the fall when I had to cancel for my Mom's poor health, and I'm flying Southwest for one leg of the flight because I have vouchers from the flights I cancelled in November.

makes total sense! Im flying sw one leg in june and back jb. This april trip is our first emptynest trip and Ive been afraid it wont happen due to this outbreak. Same here my moms health the last year has been very bad and I need a small break from reality for a fee days. Our dvc points wont be able to be banked if we needed to cancel or postpone so Im holding out hope this spring turns around for all!

$39 direct fights on Jetbluefrom Boston on my traveldates. I booked one week before their cancellation waiver started and of course paid more than twice that. Think it is worth me calling to cancel andrebook? I have the basic fare. crazy thing is, the cheapflights are better times, too. My flight gets in at 11 pm, and costs more than the better timed flights. So wish I had waited to book!

Ask the speak to a manager. The agent I spoke to last night said the agents are supposed to use their best discretion. She told me if I called back, another agent might not let me cancel and my flights aren't until mid August.

Interestingly, the flights for my date are now basically back to where they were when I booked. I wonder if a lot of people jumped on the lower fare I saw earlier today.

I think I will hold off on the rebooking at the moment.
