Flight prices so LOW!

I’m seeing some amazing prices and would totally jump on them but then I look at hotel prices and I’m not seeing a big enough difference to jump on them. Not just to MCO, but NYC and a couple other places we’d like to make a quick visit to.
Yeah the Disney resorts are as expensive as they have been for my dates. More expensive actually, in some cases. I think we’re going to need to see more mass canceling before we see more discounts. There are some reports of inventory opening up on third party sites, but too soon to tell if that’s from canceled trips or just getting close to the time that excess inventory would normally hit Priceline.

I think refunding to a travel bank is at the discretion of the agent. I mean, it doesn’t hurt to ask again (definitely try), but I think maybe it’s a matter of who is dealing with your case rather than the method of contact.

Even when using the app’s chat feature, you still have to luck into an agent who is willing to override the policy that those bookings are non refundable.

@Mainemama, are you looking to rebook for a better fare or are you mainly looking for flexibility if your trip gets cancelled? If it’s the latter, they might be more willing to work with you closer to your dates if, in fact, you need to cancel.
I am first hoping for a better flight time, second for flexibility if needing to cancel. I did benefit slightly from our rebooked flight. A travel bank credit would be a bonus, but I am not sure we would be able to use it, so I don’t care very much about that. The super low prices I am seeing are in July and August for the pp who asked. $34 for a direct flight to or from BOS to MCO.

flight prices dropped even more and I am going to try again to get a travel voucher credit and then rebook these flights!

I booked blue basic in January. It is killing me watching my flight now listed at $39!

Boston to Orlando on Jetblue, showing $38.
Returning on Delta from Orlando to Boston, showing $28!!!
I booked early Jan and not eligible for the credit or change.

Think I need to add another trip somewhere to take advantage of these prices.

Just hoping my flights are not cancelled and leaving me stranded in Orlando (going to book a back-up rental car to get home just in case..). The Delta flight was nearly full a month ago, now it is nearly empty a week out.

Being the early bird does not always pay off..

Sorry you had the experience. I guess the agent who cancelled my tickets this morning really was doing me a courtesy. When I asked if I could think about cancelling for a voucher, s/he said yes, but no guarantee the next agent would offer the same, so I took the voucher this morning.

I didn't ask about rebooking, though. I just wanted to see if my previously booked tickets could be canceled without fee if I needed to change. They were only $89/each when I bought them, so even the lower fares aren't that much of a savings. I was just looking for flexibility in case I have to reschedule my trip (again).
JetBkue just changed the policy for previous bookings this morning, so I would check the rules posted on their website and let the agent know. Better still, just do what you need to online and it will automatically apply what is applicable.

I was told no. Its not like I dont want to fly with them! or asking for money back to my card, for those who it worked out I am glad it worked for you. I just have bad luck. I just keep reading that people were given funds back and they rebooked or are saving for future travel. ughh
I just cancelled my Delta flight. It wasn't easy...she didn't offer up the cancellation easy. I didn't mention rebooking at a lower price...just that I wanted to cancel. I had booked with miles originally so when I cancelled they just returned them to my account (well they said it could take a day or two).
Good luck if you decide to try again!

Our flights were booked in October 2019 and early February 2020. I was able (before they changed the policy on previous bookings) to get DH's flights credited to a travel bank, and the Seat fees back to the original credit cards. I just hopped on Twitter and sent a DM to JB. Within 8 hours, I had the travel credits; they said it would take 7-10 business days for the seat fees to go back onto the cards, so I'm just keeping an eye on that. No stress, no arguing, just "I need to cancel his seats due to medical concerns".

ETA: I just checked one of the cards. The seat fees were refunded yesterday. It was late Monday evening when they issues the refunds (per my emails), so yay for quick turnarounds.

how long from the time flights are cancelled to the amount is seen in account as vouchers? I would be nervous to have to wait and miss out on rebooking

I just checked my emails from when I cancelled. The travel bank voucher emails came through at 10:03. The confirmation of my original itinerary cancellation came through at 10:04. So basically, instantaneous.

I did wait and book the following day, but that was because I was mulling my options.

thank you! I wasnt sure if it was taking days to see a refund.

I just booked a trip for my boyfriend to come to NJ from Orlando $32RT on Frontier. We fly them all the time pretty cheaply but that's half what our usual cheap flights cost and 1 week before Easter.

Of course I'm supposed to be going to Disney in 5 weeks so I'm just hoping and praying any closures take place prior and they are up and running again. Our school district just announced it will be closing and utilizing distance learning for the next 4 weeks.

I really need some advice on flying. I'm going to WDW in October and was wondering if I should go ahead and book a flight now since the prices are so low or should hold off. Also, is there a recommended airline that is the best? I'm flying from Pensacola, FL to Orlando MCO and not a flyer so don't know much about it. How do I book where I can get my money back if possible? 🤔

Cancel and rebook. I booked my flights months ago and when I called last night, they let me cancel and gave me credit. I booked with points so they let me put them back into my account. I would call and try.

This was for JetBlue? I've been pretty worried because our May flights were booked on TrueBlue points. It would be a massive relief if I could get those back in my account.

I just rebooked my May return with Jetblue because it was so low. It's now saying it's queued for ticketing. The seats I chose are showing as unavailable but I'm still worried that it's not going to go through. I'm hoping that it's just that they are very backed up. It also said there was a problem with my credit card. Ummm we have a 25,000 limit and the charge was $42. Probably not my Jetblue Plus card that has the problem! At least I see the charge pending on the credit card. I guess I'll just stay permanently in FL after the trip. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

EDITED - got through to Jetblue and I wasn't really booked. Got the agent to fix my travel bank too even though she basically told me she was doing me a favor. I had originally booked a blue basic fare during the time that Jetblue said you could cancel those without penalities. The agent was telling me that's only because of the virus, not because the fare is half of what you paid. Okay, I'm afraid of the virus, now can I have my travel funds? :thumbsup2
