Does owing points in the DVC count for residency status when buying park tickets? I heard a cast member stating this but I don't know if it is true.

If so, what do you have to do to prove the status when purchasing the tickets?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry, but no. I think you have to have a Florida drivers' license or proof of payment of utilities in your name at a Florida address. Since the utilities at DVC aren't in our names...

We are not entitled to Florida status by owning a piece of the Magic. They use a stricter test - I believe you need an official Florida photo ID (driver license or equivalent for those who do not drive). However, that does not prevent Disney from granting us the same perks if they chose to do so.

It's not really a FL residency issue, it's just that DVC uses the same definition as the State of FL. They could give the discount if they wanted. One needs a FL drivers license and not just the FL only one that some snowbirds get. Utility bills and the like will also work as long as it has the name and address in FL.
