Are FL res. rates and AP rates usually the same/come at the same time?
Waiting to book Nov or early Dec. with a FL Resident rate so I have been following the AP rates threads...are they the same?
Thank you!!

they are not the same.
but usually come out about the same time.
AP rates are about 5% better across the board.

wrong typically APs and FL rates are exactly the same. I love Mousesavers but for the 8/15-10/2 are wrong. I have an AP and I'm a FL resident and the prices are the same. Values are 35% off just like with APs. I've always found they usually have more FL rate rooms than AP rooms so I book FL to give AP holders a chance to get their discount. A few years back FL rates were cheaper than AP rates were cheaper but the past year they have been the same.

A few years back FL rates were cheaper than AP rates were cheaper but the past year they have been the same.

For the past year or so, the AP rates have been slightly better. For example, the AP rate might say the discount on a DVC resort is 45% for stays over three days and 42% for stays 1-3 days. The Fla Res at the same time said something like 42% for stays over 4 days, and 40% for stays 1-4 days. So both the minimum stay and the amount of the discount were slightly better for AP holders than Florida Residents. That being said, I always check both because sometimes they sell out of the cheapest rooms under the AP discount, but you can still grab one under the resident discount - so the overall result is a cheaper stay. The big thing is that they haven't been releasing everything together - sometimes the AP comes out first and sometimes the resident discount. They used to release them together all the time - which was much more convenient when you're looking for a deal.

I do remember the days when the resident discount was better than the AP, but I have never seen them exactly the same - one is usually a little better than the other.
