Sharon are you paying online? Is it offering that option? (can't get to the WDW site at work!) They would not take the final payment over the phone.

I can not get it to work online either, nor on the phone. Sharon isnt online, and did not anweser her PM...Im thinking she didnt really pay for it. As nobody on other boards were able to either. If you have any luck post it her or PM me. I PMed you but you didnt respond.

Maybe they took that option away as well? I could not get to anything that would allow me to pay for it but maybe it was there earlier before they pulled the rates.

I did look at my confirmation on the website and it still says I owe $80.22 with no mention of the room rate. I guess we just sit and wait...

I can't imagine people planning vacations with this new rate and getting all the way to WDW to find out the rate is not being honored and then for them to just turn around and go home. Has anyone thought of just calling Disney and asking them if they are planning to honor the rate? :confused3

Just speaking for myself I couldn't take a chance of putting all of that planning into a vacation and getting there to find out at check-in that I had to pay 4 times more than what I was originally quoted. That just doesn't work for us or our budget! :sad2:

How do you all plan on finding out if this rate will be honored or not???

Looks like we all have to wait and see. In this case, no news is good news. I will post if I hear anything!

I just spoke with my boss, who is an attorney, however, not a contract one. He weighed in with this:

Since they took the deposit, he feels that made the contract. He also said, as a life long Floridian, in the past when things like this happened that he recalls, Disney just turned it into a PR boom for themselves "Oops. Look at us, we made a mistake but we'll honor it. We're Disney."

Whether or not these will be correct in this instance, I don't know. But that was his thoughts on the subject.

that's the thing. I would like to know before getting all the way over there. I wonder just how many people got in at that rate and if that would skew them honoring it?
If they honor it great - we'll be there and spend more $$, if they don't honor it, no biggie, we'll just wait til next time!

I'm going to add that I *think* alot of us are making trips we didn't originally plan to because of this glitch. Disney can get my $107.00 for four nights at Coronado, plus my money for food, plus the money for souvenirs my 5 year old and 2 year old will undoubtedly want, or they can get nothing.

Just like the hotels who use Priceline to sell some of their rooms, I would think they would prefer the latter.

LOL Lillygator, obviously thinking about the same thing at the same time. :)

Three cheers for your boss! I hope he's right! I'm sure we will get confirmations in the mail one way or the other?!

I think it is safe to say that after this glitch, all the AP holders waiting for a special AP rate through Christmas are out of luck. I wonder if this programming error happened in house, or through out-sourcing. Very interesting indeed...
:badpc:

Do they mail paper confirmations with internet bookings?
I have two reservations with the Best Rate program and never rec'd a mailed confirmation.

That's what I have been saying the whole time. Disney isn't going to lose out of this. I know my family of four will be spending 75 a day down there and thats a minimum amount. We had no plans on going down there until xmas and now we are making two trips in two months and this is actually going to bring in people during the value season when the attendance is low. I spoke with some of the attorney's on the base I work at and they say by accepting the deposit puts the confirmed reservation into a binding contract.

I mentioned this to a friend who manages a hotel too and she said they should honor it. She also says this kind of thing "happens all the time"

OK...so we are all waiting, and I guess none of us want to call, because we really don't want to hear the bad news.....let them call us if they don't want to honor the price :rolleyes1

I guess I may be one of the first to hear since I booked October 6, and according to their site I am 37 days away from my next disney vacation :cool1:

Now I know I read somewhere while I was booking that it was 45 days to cancel and get a refund...but on their site on the terms and conditions page it says 6 days. Yet more confusion to this equation. Guess I am SOL if it is 45 days, if not, I will just ask for my deposit back if they don't honor the rate.

Wish I had been a little more ambitious and gone for a deluxe...$22 a night for a deluxe concierge! Wow!!!

Thats awesome that some people were able to book the deluxe. I can't look a gift horse in the mouth though. If anyone hears anything please update us all.

Well i just dont know. I have called 5 times, all with different reps. None of them could take my payment b/c it was made online., and not threw an agent.

The last one I spoke to got me a manager. We spent about an hour on the phone, she called guest relations, booking, all these different places. She told me it is physcially impossible for anybody to take an online payment over the phone. Maybe the rebooked you, (to take the credit for the booking) in which case i hope you confirmed the ammount they carged you.

I dont know, its all up in the air, its all very confusing, and I just dont know what will come of it. I was going to say... are you goign to honor this price. But she didnt even bring the price up. So i figured... no news is good news.

I guess ill just stick around on here, and wait to see if anybody heres anything.

I couldn't take it anymore so I called. The CM put me on hold for a few minutes and then said this: Disney will honor the rate for the first night only! This was for people who had put the one night room deposit down. I asked what if I had paid in full and they had no answer for me. I asked if this was an official answer and again she just said that was what customer service told her. She didn't have any details about notification of all the people who have these rates. She definately was trying to help me, but I think she wasn't getting good answers from the management. She didn't even know about the "glitch" and asked me a few questions about how I reserved this rate.

I wouldn't take this as "The end all be all". I think they don't know what they are doing yet. I will call again in a day if no "official" notification is announced. Sorry for the bad news, but I thought everyone should know. :sad2:

I just tried to look up my December dates for the resdient rates and the *book now* button/icon is missing on all of the offers...or is that just me? I tried to look up prices for my dates under the standard system...it worked once and then gave me the message that "reservations is currently down for work" or something to that effect. I wonder if it's b/c disney is searching for more glitches or if they're about to upload a new deal....hmmm free dining??? Or mabey its just busy.....**please please be a new deal!!!**
