First Time Reservation Questions

Woo Hoo just got set up on the DVC member's website and am trying to make my first reservation. I'm feeling kind of stupid because I am unable to locate the area on the website that shows what is available.

1. I found the place where you input your vacation date to check availability but what if your dates are completely open and you just need a week or two at any time?

2. Is there a calendar view that shows which dates are available or do I have to enter every week for the next year, one date at a time?

3. What if I'm willing to split our stay at two resorts?

The isn't a calendar view and 2 resorts will require 2 separate reservations.

You have to choose specific dates. I believe it will show you a max of 2 weeks at a time. You also need to choose a specific resort & accommodation type. The resulting availability will show for your resort of choice and possibly another one or two and also different room types at the resort you choose

2. Is there a calendar view that shows which dates are available or do I have to enter every week for the next year, one date at a time? As stated above you can get results for 2 weeks at a time within your booking window.

3. What if I'm willing to split our stay at two resorts?You still need to check each resort separately.

If when you are checking availability at resort 1, but that resort is not available for the entire period, they will automatically show 3 more choices which may be all or partially available. But if your resort 2 is not on that list you would have to search again.

Thank you everyone! I was afraid of that. Was hoping there was a master calendar view for each resort and room type showing availability but unfortunately no. Anyways, was able to find a reservation that works for us one date/one resort at a time. LOL

The good thing is that if you enter a date, it does seem to try to show you SOMETHING that is available. So you can ask for BLT, and it wil show you no BLT availability, but if there's availability at SSR or AKV for that time period, it will show that. (I believe that if you ask for BLT MK view it would always show you LV or SV if one of those is available).

I agree it would be nice if the system offered a "show what weekends I can get an AKV studio", but not yet. Remember that the online reservation system itself is very recent.
