We will be staying at SSR and will need to order groceries for the first time. if we order from instacart in the morning the day of our arrival, will they deliver to the bell hop, front desk, or do we need our room number ahead of time? Not sure how to best handle this as we will need cold items like milk for the little ones. Any and all suggestions welcome.

Grocery deliveries go to Bell Services at the DVC resorts (and other Disney deluxe resorts), no room number needed but they do need to be labeled with the name of the primary guest on the reservation. The service you choose also needs to pack cold and frozen items separately and label them clearly, so that BS can store them properly. When you do get your room number, you can stop by BS on your way to the room and pick everything up yourself, or you can call BS from your room and have them brought up. A $6 fee might or might not be charged; a tip is expected for delivery to your room.

Thank you so much for the information and fast reply!

I had ordered from Instacart for years with no problems; however, on our last 2 trips my order was cancelled with no notification or explanation. I was waiting for the delivery and only saw that it was cancelled when I checked the app. The first time, I had to reorder TWICE before we finally got a successful delivery. The second time I gave up and took a Lyft to Publix, which is what I'll do from now on. Fast, easy, inexpensive and I'd rather do my own shopping anyway.
That said, when Instacart did work well I'd schedule the delivery for a time when I planned to be in the room, and they deliver directly to the room. You get a notification when the shopper is shopping and you can message them your room number. You can follow the driver in the app and see exactly where they are and when they arrive. If you're not gonna be in the room then they can leave it at Bell Services and cold items will be refrigerated. I find it a hassle to then get the stuff to the room so I'd rather have it delivered directly.

We often use Instacart, usually before we arrive at the resort. Then we'll leave our bags with Bell, have groceries delivered to Bell, and then when the room is ready and we return from the pool/park - head to the room and have it all delivered to the room at the same time. Then we're ready to go for the stay! I know that timing can be different for some families, but this approach has worked out really well for us many times - and I don't have to lug cases of water, other drinks, and groceries to the room. It's vacation, after all! FYI - we don't order alcohol - delivery of alcohol is very different - they won't just drop it off with Bell.
