First time going to MNSSHP any tips

Make sure you catch the parade and fireworks. Have fun trick or treating and dress up if you want. A lot of people do. It's like a big Halloween party.

We'll be there September 5 for our first party too! Can;t wait! I really hope it was worth the extra $200!

1. Camera

2. Video Camera

3. Unique Costume

Don't worry about riding rides. Enjoy the character meet and greets. Last Oct. I took DH's picture with the 7 Dwarfs and Snow White and then with just Dopey and Grumpy. He then emptied the memory card without transfering the pics to the Photo Harddisk. :guilty: :sad2:

He also lost the pics of me in front of Mrs. Potts Cupboard. They gave me a free cup of icecream. :mickeybar

That is a great picture of the two of you. Sorry to hear about the picture loss. I just went through that in Jan. I actually lost my memory card. I was lucky enough to have the pictures saved on my computer.

I am not doing costumes this time. We are traveling from Canada and it is just to much to have to pack them with two small kids and strollers. We will have enough luggage for the 9 days that we are there. Thanks to the nice designers on this site I am making shirts for the kids and treat bags.

Go to the second parade for a drastically reduced crowd.

Get your free picture taken early in the evening - but go to one of the photo booths in the back of the park where there will be little or no wait.

As others have said, take in the shows and special extras and make the rides lower priority.

Wear a costume - but make sure it isn't uncomfortable. Believe it or not - when we were there a few years ago we saw many kids in those furry costumes and it was HOT HOT HOT. Parents ended up lugging them around all night.

It is really fun! Very festive atmosphere!

We'll be there too that night!!! It's my and my DS's first time, my DH and other son went last year while I was stuck in our room with a sick kid:sad2: hoping for a healthier trip this year:)

They do free pictures where? Are the photo booth's just for that night. I remember there was one at Splash mountain
I didn't know there was a second parade. Do you know what time it is at?
Are the fireworks the same as they are the other nights? Because I am sure we will see them one of the other nights we are there and if we can focus on other stuff that might be good.

Jen M-

* There are 2 parades, 1st around 8:15pm and the 2nd around 10:30pm

* Fireworks, called "Hallowishes" are AWESOME!!! They are around 9:30pm. Worth the cost of admission IMHO. We loved watching on the Tomorrowland bridge. Perfect view!

* The year we went you got a free family pic with admission and there were stations all over MK to have it taken. I'm not sure if they still offer the free pic. If you are going to have a pic taken (with photo pass or whatever) I would get it done earlier in the night and start at the back of the park. I think lots of people forget about their pics at first because they are enjoying the decorations etc.. and then the lines get long as the evening goes on.

* Also - in the past you could enter the park around 4pm with your ticket even though the party doesn't start until 7pm.

We loved it!!!
