Hi all...I have been reading this forum and I have gotten so much information! Thanks to all of you experienced cruisers! Now I have a few of my own questions... I have put a deposit on the 3nght 12/26 Wonder cruise (category 6) for myself, husband and two sons who will be 23 and 18. We have never cruised before...frankly I have never been crazy about being on a boat or out to sea. But everyone says how wonderful it is, so I am going to give it the 3 night try! We booked the night before and the night after the cruise at the BWV using points..just to make the flying portion less hectic. We have been to WDW many, many times...we are DVC members, Annual Passholders, Disney Club members....love, love any Disney experience.
Here goes...how crowded do you think it will be the few days after Christmas? Which part of the ship is best to have your room?
Does the difference in sq. ft. between Cat. 6 and 8 reflect mostly the added verandah? Do you think 4 adults will feel crowded in the Cat. 6 or 8 room? Thats all I can think of for now... :)
Thanks in advance for any insight!

The ship will probably be pretty close to capacity. People do like to take advantage of school being out to cruise near the holidays. But don't worry, even when the ship is full, it's not unpleasant or crowded-feeling... unlike the parks at WDW.

Which part of the ship is best to have your room?
Your next question asks about Category 6's and 8's. These are on Decks 5, 6, and 7. These are the more convenient decks as opposed to 1 and 2 because they're convenient to both the pools and the restaurants/lounges/activities.

Does the difference in sq. ft. between Cat. 6 and 8 reflect mostly the added verandah?
Yes. That's the only difference.

Do you think 4 adults will feel crowded in the Cat. 6 or 8 room?
Only if you want some... um... privacy. but maybe you can revert to the dormitory etiquette of putting a sock or necktie on the doorknob. And you'll feel less crowded in a 6 than you would an 8.

With 4 adults, you would definitely be happier in the Cat. 6 with the verandah. And as Dave said, don't forget to hang some sort of "Do Not Disturb" sign if you want privacy!

Thanks....but the 4 adults will be myself..my husband and our two sons.(23 & 18)..so....we'll be cruising family style;) ....and won't be too pressured for the "do not disturb-sock on the doorknob" aspect of this particular cruise.
