First time booking a DCL cruise

My wife and I are looking at booking a Disney cruise for our anniversary next June. Right now it's looking like we are going to shoot for the four night Bahamian cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale on the Disney Destiny. We are looking at an ocean view stateroom. I am looking for any tips, do's or don'ts when booking the cruise. I am going into this as a total newbie when it comes to DCL.

• In general, pricing is more expensive the more midship and the higher up in the ship;
• If you are concerned about motion sickness, conventional wisdom is that there is less motion midship. I often remind people that these are big ships - this is not like a fighing boat, so there is movement, but it will be different from what you may have experienced before.
• For Oceanview staterooms, midship oceanview staterooms would be on the lower levels only.

Very cool. Thank you for the info. While I am not one to get motion sickness, the one time we took a boat out in Kaui on a day that had huge swells, I did get sick. On the way back in when the ocean had calmed down, I was fine. But those big swells did me in. I think I would probably be okay on a cruise ship.

What is the advantage/disadvantage to high levels and lower levels? I am guessing view out the window or out on the personal balcony.
