Hi everyone! My DH and I are OKW owners and are making our first trip to Hilton Head soon with our 2 year old. We're taking along my sister, brother-in-law and their children, ages 2 and 6. We're trying to decide what to include in our room request. We think we'd like a room with a scenic view and in close proximity to the pool. However, we're not sure exactly what to request.

To help in our decision, I'd LOVE to hear about your favorite HH room location and what your family likes about it.

Thank you very much for your help!!!!

Oh, I'm just green with envy! We were just there last month and I think I've been homesick for about three weeks now already!

We love building 27. Not sure if it's smoking or not. We've stayed in both 2721 and 2722. If it's any indication, 2722 had an ashtray in the cupboard and 2721 did not. We like the second floor location. It seemed like the view would definitely be better from there. These are 2 bedroom units. Not sure what size you're booking.

The view from the balcony is of the marsh. Watch the tides change, dolphins sometimes, lots of birds, bunnies, etc. Also can see boats and kayaks going through. It seems like you're in your own little world out there. You can also see the fishing pier. This summer, they had fireworks on Tuesday night and we had a front-row seat on our balcony. We had been wondering why that barge was anchored out there! :-)

The front of the building overlooks the pool. It's so close to everything... community hall, Tide Me Over, exercise room, the bike rental window, shuffleboard, campfire are all just to the side of this building, but we were never bothered by any noise, even sitting outside on the balcony.

Have a great trip!

Last summer my family and I stayed in villa 2722. It is a second floor, dedicated 2 bedroom villa. Building 27 is definatly "smoking permitted". So is bldg. 28 The previous post describes the villa and location quite well. This is an excellant location as long as you don't mind it being smoking permitted.

:p hi there...we have been to hh twice in the last 2 years. we loved it so much that we bought points (loved it every bit as much as the villas at the wilderness lodge and okw...maybe more!)
both times we have stayed in the same unit by chance...2922 (building 29 ) is a 2 bedroom on the 2nd floor. it is adjacent to bld 27 as described in the previous post, but it is non smoking. it is so close to the fun but just removed enough to be perfect.. at first i was disappointed that the overhanging live oaks mostly blocked alot of the view of the marsh from this unit, but it didnt take long to fall in love with the wonderful seclusion. it was unreal. we had such a great family time there. oh yes, it was spotless both times as well. have the best time ever!:smooth:

If you like a pool view, building 26 is great. We were in 2622 (2nd floor) and loved the location. It is close to the campfire pit, community center and store. Also, you can see the marsh from the side of the balcony.

We stayed right in the Live Oak Lodge in April/May. It was convenient to the activities in Big Murgies Den (we had a B'Lou Crab magic show all to ourselves (me, My DW and 2 DSs (aged 4 and 6 months at the time - my kids loved Shadow) and there is covered parking directly under the Live Oak. It kept the cars nice and cool all day and was amazingly convenient. In addition, taking things out from the front desk (especially board games) was really easy!

Two drawbacks...

1) not close to the pools, store, campfire pit and rentals (which are all in the same place); and

2) the view from some of the other buildings (e.g., 24) is more open to the water....very pretty!

Enjoy...It's a great resort
