I need help... I am doing my first ever scrapbook- from start to finish - I have done pages before but never finished the whole book by myself.

I need some cute ideas for my opening page of for our Disney Vacation this past December. And anything else I should make sure my Disney scrapbook contains.

thanks in Advance- I know they are brillant minds out there- any ideas and help would be wonderful.

First of all, congratulations on deciding to attempt a whole book!

There are many methods used by the folks here to create their WDW vacation books. Some sort the photos by park, others by day, others do an ABC book, and some sort by character. I am a strictly chronological girl myself. I think of my trip scrapbooks as an extension of my trip journal. (I keep an extensive trip journal while we are there.)

FWIW, I usually make my opening/title page last. Not sure why. There are lots of great ideas here on our Virtual Scrapbook thread and over at www.twopeasinabucket.com if you need inspiration. I would just say be sure to include the who, what, where, and when.

I usually include the following in my scrapbooks (in addition to photos and journaling, obviously!).... restaurant menus and receipts, souvenir receipts, photo claim cards (they usually have a cool graphic on the flip side), printed napkins, park maps and tickets, daily park schedules, autographs, plane tickets. If I can't seem to find a logical spot for the memorabilia, I will make a pocket page to include stuff. I think it will be fun someday for my kids to see how much it cost to eat breakfast at Cinderella's Castle.

I hope some of this helped!......................P

I made a large circle using Disney stickers on my first page and then used small letter diecuts to spell out all the specifics. It turned out really cute!

I organize my Disney book by park/activity because I got to multiple parks on the same day and didn't want to have to scrap all those different place chronologically.

Good luck with your book!

thanks for the help-
yes- I brought home many of small napkins, tickets, room keys reciept that sort of thing- but I didnt know why-- Now I know that I can find somewhere in my book for them- I also had my DS7 fill out a journal everynight so I would know his thoughts for the day to put those in the book.

Thank you so much for the ideas-

Well, our trip was in September, and now I am just starting to make our book. I too have a few questions. I have never made a photopage....so....

1. Do you all use the clear folders that fit into the albums? The ones I have seen just show the page, or are they just showing us the page?

2. I have a really good idea for my first page, how do I go about making letters? I could print them from my fonts on the computer and then cut those out and trace them onto my cardstock, I want to make several layers of a word. Making them increasingly bigger.

Ok. Thats all for now!

Thanks!
Sharon

Answer to question 1: I create my pages on cardstock and then sliip them into the clear page protectors. It will depend on the album you buy though what is best to do about that. I have some albums that I do directly on the page and they don't have page protectors.

Answer to question 2. You can diecut letters (many scrapbook stores will let you diecut the letters) or you can print them out- if you choose to print and then cut print directly onto the cardstaock with an outline of the letter and then cut the outline.
