How far in advance can I schedule my DD's first haircut at the barbershop? And do I just call 407-WDW-DINE?

We did it about a month in advance but you can do it 180 days in advance. It is the dining number. It was a great experience for our dd. and honestly a bargain.

I did it 180 days out and still did not get my first choice for the time I wanted. The number I used was 407-WDW-PLAY

I did it about 2 months in advance last January and it was WIDE open- could have any time we wanted. Interesting that others couldn't get their 1st choice time slot.

We did it for darling son in 2012. I waited for the last minute so we did not have our choice of times. Well worth making the ressie and having my DS's first haircut at Disney.

We made a res, but honestly if you get there early enough I don't think you need one. Disney is incredibly weird about that sort of thing, they want to make you lock down every second. (case in point, we wanted to eat at cp for lunch, but there were no ADR for lunch, just dinner at 4. However, we passed by the CP around 11, and asked if they could seat us, and they did! Waited 5 minutes, and the place was practically empty!)

I guess, make a ressie for they DAY you want it (it's the dining #) and just keep trying to modify it. On day of, show up early or at the time you originally wanted and see if they will take you. Oh, and many CMs I spoke with had no idea what the barbershop was. It's truly the best secret at the MK. (So don't tell anyone!) My boy gets his hair done every time, and the beauticians are great with kids.

Where IS the barbershop? :) I'm thinking my son will feel left out the day his sister is a princess. He's to young for bbb and I think this makes more sense :)

We just walked up end of last October. Told there was a 20min wait, which was no problem :)

We did DD's first haircut in January. I made a reservation a few days before our trip and could pick just about any time I wanted on any day of our trip. While we were actually there for the cut around 11am, other were walking up and told there was a 15 minute wait without a reservation

When you walk into the MK, head towards the area between the Fire station and the Emporium. It's right in that little nook there, right where the parade starts/ends. There are 3 or so chairs, and it's quite small. You blink, you miss it! :) But the people are super sweet, knowledgeable and professional. Plus, they are great with kids!

Although if your DS feels left out b/c your DD is getting the princess look, BBB does have a knight package for the boys that is considerably cheaper and has lots of knightly goodies like swords and shields. Perfect for defending his sister against any future suitors! :rotfl:

Thanks! I wish he could do the BBB but he would have to be 3, right? :/

Hmmm...I think so. But Barbershop is such a better deal anyway. And they can go at any age.

This is what they did for DS first haircut when he was 1 yr:

We went in, waited for about 5-10 minutes to get set up. They had a booster seat and plenty of spinney light-up toys to distract him, plus our beautician stickered him up with, like, 1,000 Mickey stickers. :rotfl:

She then asked us what type of cut we'd like, and we told her we wanted DS to be a little more Christopher Robin looking - little boy like vs his then shaggy look. She very quickly and professionally trimmed his hair, and put the cut locks to the side so she could bag them up for us. We were invited to take lots of pics, to distract him, which we did! I'm still amazed she clipped him so neatly since he was looking at everything! She neatened up the sides with some clippers, bagged his locks in a little plastic bag which she then put into a mesh bag, and he was good to go! We got a certificate of bravery, and Mickey Ears that said "My First Haircut". All for $18.

Kids cuts are $15, and I think you can still get glitter. Normal adult cuts are $18. Best deal ever. We asked our beautician what was the youngest she ever cut, and apparently, she has cut a baby's hair a couple of times. Like, a baby - 4 or so months old. So they take nearly everyone.

So the barbershop has an appt that same day as BBb but it's right after our meal at CRT... It will have been a busy morning. My question is, should I book it "in case" , but try for a walk in when we enter the park early (Dd's BBB reservation is at 835).. Or just risk it. I was thinking of risking it, If he doesn't get in, I can bring gel, have them fairy dust him & get a special something in the park...

I wish I had heard about this a week or two ago... He doesn't really need a haircut! Lol
