Get a dSLR! Its the best thing I bought since my GPS!!

Spend a little time learning the basics Shutter Speed, Apeture and ISO and you'll never look back. The pictures are so much better that the little extra size doesn't bother me at all.
I'm actually getting real-DH a DSLR camera for Christmas! He wants to learn all that stuff...I just want to be able to point and shoot...:rotfl:

 Yes please.

And when you aren't looking, I'm sneaking out of the house and leaving you with the kids.
Sneaky Sneaky :tiptoe:

:headache:

Sure, just be sure to leave out the sharp objects and leave the coins by the outlets.
Sounds like a good plan to me...:thumbsup2

One of the many reasons why we must bow to you:worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:
FINALLY...a man who understands his place :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

A nice feature of the dSLR is you can point and shoot. You photos will still be better than a pocket camera. But when your ready to get creative and take better photos you have the tools.

I like to point and shoot too, but our camera is an older Kodak digital (only 3.1mp) so it's soon time to upgrade (especially since I dropped it on the concrete floor of the garage today getting it out of the car).

Good morning everyone!

DH got me a awesome Fuji camera for my b-day in October- I still have no idea how to work it except on auto. Need to put in the cd manual and figure it out before the cruise! Home today with the girls- the little ones- PT conference day. We are attempting our first gingerbread house. Man that frosting is like tar!
Happy holidays

Okay I just Wiki'd DSLR and my mind is spinning. Either I am too tired, or it is way to complicated and I'm sticking to my pocket camera.

I was santafied by a diser- but cannot get it to work! cut and pasted it as told, but just the text shows up without santa! Posted to the tech board but no one responded :sad1:

Any good leads on cameras that are watertight? I would love to take photos while parasailing or jetskiing.

Good ol' Royal Icing...that stuff is like tar. I hate trying to make flowers with it!

::yes:: How else do you think I've made it this far?
Good point! :thumbsup2

Olympus Stylus line are waterproof to ~10ft. I have oe of the earlier models that took good pictures. I never tested it to see how waterproof it truely was. Unless you want to deal with water tight cases and a realy good camera, I would just go with the disposable underwater cameras you can buy at WalMart or Target

Thanks for the disposable waterproof camera suggestion Kathy...I think I'll buy each of my kids one to use while we are at Castaway Cay! :thumbsup2

Don't get caught up in all the jargon. Really, go get the book Understanding Exposure and sit at the book store and read it. If its too much, keep the dSLR in auto mode until your ready. But in auto the shots are still much better than a pocket camera.
