First day/night at Edge?

Very glad to see this info. My sons will be 5, 10, and 12, and I like knowing that the 12 year old will have options and be able to do some in both the Lab & the Edge if he chooses.

I am interested in this thread too as would like to involve our two dds (10 & 14) in the clubs as I think it will add so much to the cruise for them. Both a bit shy and embarrassed when it comes to meeting new friends though so may need a bit of persuasion. Which Dream Cruise are you on? We are on 8th April

Lmjenk I am on the April 8th sailing. With 2 girls age 10.5 and 13. Our first cruise. Hoping they will both get to go the Edge. What dinner seating do you have?We are late.

Our DD didn't go to Edge till the 2nd or 3rd night- she had no issues flitting in

Great info thanks!! Can kids that are right on the 'edge' do both the Oceaneer Lab & Edge? My daughter is 11 and her brother is only 10 (will be 11 the month after our cruise), so she wants to do stuff with her brother and check out Edge. TIA

Hi

Hi

We are the earlier seating, we will be on UK time still (5 hours ahead) so will need to eat early!!! There is a FB page a few of us are on for that cruise if you want to join it? Not sure if I am allowed to post that ;-o

An 11 year old can participate in both the Lab and Edge areas. A 10 year old MIGHT be allowed to participate in Edge, but the CMs onboard must make that decision. It all depends on how many kids in the correct age groups are onboard. If there are enough 11-14 year old kids onboard the cruise that's the maximum allowed in Edge, then a 10 year old will not be allowed to "age up".

I do not have a FB page- Im the only one Im sure- If you all are planning a meet let me know!

Thank you for starting this thread. We are first time cruisers and I have same concerns for my DS14 and DS12. I really hope they connect and enjoy the clubs.

Like PP have mentioned, the "ice breaker" event takes place well after the second seating. According to my navigator it was at 10pm. My DD often attended many of the Edge activities after our second seating dinner.

The ice breaker is a basic intro of all the kids and crew members. Great way to kick off new friendships! There are lots of games that are repeated all the way through the week. I would suggest that if your child has a smart phone, download the navigator app. There is a built in messenger that you can use to communicate with each other and it is FREE to use(no cell charges apply). And if your child makes friends that also have the app, they can swap navigator numbers and plan meet ups and which activities they are going to!
