Firm Thread Sept. 1-30th

I went for a walk/run this morning after I took ds to the bus stop. I figured I'd better enjoy the relatively cool morning before it hits 98 degrees this afternoon! Helllllloooooo? What happened to autumn? :mad:

Hi Tracy! Oooooooo, some FIRM news just for you, girl: Some of the Ya Yas are reporting seeing BSS4 at their local Target for $60. It's not the deluxe set, but I paid like $100-some for the same one at Collage, so it may be something you'd want to check out. :) You're still doing such a great job with your workouts, sweetie, and I swear I wished we lived closer so that I could join you in your cardio dance parties. I try to get ds10 to boogie around the house with me like when he was little, and he just looks at me like I've got two heads. He's just waaaaaay toooooo coooooool for me. :smooth: :rolleyes:

Hi s&k'smom! :shamrock: I'm glad your brother made it to Iraq safely, and I hope things do stay that way for him. Does he know how long he'll be there? There's an army base (Ft. Gordon) about 20 minutes from here, and one of our neighbors is being deployed to Iraq in the spring. It's amazing how non-chalant he is about it--just doing his job. I whine and complain when I have to walk 1/10 of a mile to the bus stop when it's hot outside. Oy--perspective, perspective, perspective. Please let him know we're thinking of him and keeping him in our prayers. :hug:

Thank you my friend, isn't it funny how things get put into perspective for us. Sean (my DS) was saying that they go down to the plane when they are taking home the bodies of our service people to show there respect. I complain how broke I am and whine, blah blah blah and my brother is a million miles away showing respect for dead soldiers. Man oh man.
 
s&k'smom, glad your brother made it safe and sound.

I did a kinda light workout onthe account that I'm not feeling very well. I did a premix of cardio and weights (just the weighted section) and the first segment of stretch max) Still got in a hour, at least I wasn't jumping, huffing and puffing. I don't think my body would have liked that to much!

Okay, so I still haven't had time to work out since Sunday. Will try again tomorrow.

Luvmydogs..looks like you are feeling better!! So very glad for you!!!

s&k's mom..I understand how you feel. I have a brother (who is 36) who was in the active AirForce and served in Saudi Arabi during the Gulf War. He has remained in the National Guard and was deployed last year to Iraq for Desert Storm for a six month tour. He has a wife, a three year DD and twin DDs who are 6 months old. He evacuated for the Hurricaine and upon return to Houma, his guard unit was called up to go to New Orleans to help. He has been gone since the Wednesday after the storm. Hopefully, he will not be gone long. I am EXTREMELY proud of him and all of our servicemen/women. He does it because he loves his country and helping others. I cry everytime I hear the National Anthem because of him.

Tracy...great job on the 30 day challenge. You Go GIRL!!!!! I was in a challenge myself before the Hurricaine and was supposed to retake my measurements the weekend of the Hurricaine. Well that did not happen!!! In the past two weeks, with the stress eating and lack of exercise....I think that I will try to get back to FIRMin on a regular basis for a few weeks and then remeasure. I thought I was making such good progress too....C'est La Vie!!! I have so many, many things to be thankful for!!
Happy Early Birthday!!!!! It must be in the next few days right??

Morning friends, 55 minutes of Taebo, it was Taebo cardio but I didn't have the resistance bands but oh man with the bands it's gonna be right up there with Cathe. Even Billy Blank's daughter was dying during some of the exercises and she's as fit as he is.

My workouts haven't really been challenging me too much this week so I am on my way to do a heavy weights routine my DH came up with. I figure if I wake up with slightly sore muscles tomorrow, I'm doing something right. ;)

Ah, Tracy-Trace, about the new Cathe's... I'm assuming her new partnership will mean CCETV's financial backing, distributorship and enhanced marketing. Maybe that will mean more high-quality workouts with more places to buy them at competitive prices? I hope so!

As for the new workouts, the only ones I am absolutely salivating over are the ones they'll be producing in the winter. Those are exactly what I've been looking for from Cathe (and a lot of her other customers, as they've posted requests for these on her website), and I can't wait to hear all the details!

The boxing w/o's really threw me. It kind of sounds intriguing, and if done well, a boxing regimen could really whip you into shape. I just don't think there's a way I'll be buying a bag and gloves and still have $$$ for the workouts! It's an interesting direction for her to take, though--certainly different.

I'm interested in one or two of the workouts she's doing presently (presale is up on at www.cathe.com ), but I don't think I'll be pre-ordering. With her last series, The Hardcores, so many people (myself included) felt burned by the lack of production values of the dvds and the couldn't-care-less customer service attitude when the problems were brought to their attention. I'm going to wait on the Ya Ya and VF reviews, and if they're good, I'll most definitely get Low Impact Circuit, as I *love* Cathe's low impact work! With the other three, I'll hold out unless I feel I just have to have them! But the Winter ones--oh yeah, baby--I'm there! :banana:

I just clicked on the link. Haven't read through it all yet, but oh boy oh boy. More money to spend. Guess DH needs to sell some more houses!!!!

I am feeling a little better today. I call myself keeping my workouts light. I think she's trying to kill me!!! Timesaver 4 today (kickboxing and shoulder work) That's a long 45 minutes!!!!!!!!!

I hope everyone is doing well. I'm rushing as it's time for me to get to the school for my babies!!!!
 
Ok, so I had to go through the thread before I left. Looks like I'm in the market for some more Cathe dvd's!!! See I had asked DH for a certain amount of money for her videos, and he said o.k. I saved so much by buying through ebay, I can buy the new series and not miss it. It is so worth it to preorder!

:wave2: Well ladies, guess what. I finally did all of Imax2. Funny thing is I wanted to do it while I was sick!!!!! There must really be something wrong with my body :confused3 Oh well, what a good workout. Hard for me to get al lthe steps,but I made it through.

Morning, got in Kathy Smith's taebo like tape this am. I like it but she's trying to do something "urban" with her hair and it doesn't work. I actually like her, and would definately do more of her tapes.

Yes, luvmydogs, Billy Blanks daughter, Shelly, has the abs to die for. I was reading her bio and she teaches classes, plus she was some kind of karate champ.
 
Ah...Shelly's abs. Hate her. I wonder if she has children???? Oh well, I'd love to have abs like that!!!!!

I did Cardio and Weights this afternoon. I'm trying to get my system back in order. I still feel a lot of congestion, but this seems to be helping me out quite a bit.

I am looking forward to most of Cathe's new workouts, except maybe the all step one. Coordination is not my strong suit!!! The boxing workouts most definately!!!! I love Taebo. DH says it makes me violent. I start practicing all on him. All in fun!

Nothing this am, I was just putting in the Cathe dvd when DS woke up, now mind you I've had one cup of coffee already and when I laid down next to him I promptly fell back to sleep. Think I gotta get out more!
 
Good morning!

Today is the last day of my 30 days to 30 exercise challenge! :banana: I plan on walking, maybe doing some dancing, or doing a FIRM workout. No weights though because I am still sore from Friday's weight workout DH designed. Whew! :faint:

Tracy my friend stupid question. 30 day challenge does that mean you workouted out 30 days in a row. I'm thinking I need something like that.

It was Cathe's Low Max step-only premix, and a section from her Core Max for me this morning. :sunny:

Ds10 started fall baseball yesterday, so it now again time for me to resist all the refreshment stand goodies! Cool fall evenings and baseball stadium popcorn are a deadly combination!

I just could'nt get my butt in gear this am, I've been so tired the last few weeks, no I'm not pregnant. I know the working out will give me energy but I've never been this tired. I think it's the stress. Besides working out what do you guys do to boost your energy?
