Finally...with Good & Bad

Good news and bad news...the good we booked our flights for a trip home to the BWV. Kids are excited....we haven't been in a couple years. Southwest just opened up April and the price was OK. The bad though, I looked at flights this morning and Southwest was really good and I thought that I would get into work and book it. 45 minutes later I went to book and guess what, the flight was $400 more. I should have booked at home......Regardless looking forward to going. Lastly, ME, this will be our first trip using this service, is it good?

Good that you are planning a great vacation! I truly would have fainted at the new price, but I hope the fare goes down for you! SW at least would give you a credit if it does.

We have no real complaints about ME. Our bag was misplaced one time, but it was delivered the next morning. it was a strange experience. We have personally used ME at least 15 times, that was the only hiccup!

DME is fine. You can expect it to take 1 1/2 hours and you may stop at a couple of resorts. You can reserve DME from the member website, you will receive your luggage tags 30 days prior to your vacation, wear your MB to board the bus and have a nice vacation.

Our daughters have used the ME several times & have never had a problem, regardless of what time they landed, late morning, early afternoon or late afternoon. Hope you you can get cheaper fares.

I have been following several trips on SW that I have booked right when the flights opened. We have 9 people traveling 12/26 - 1/3 and used both points and paid for some tickets. Since I check frequently I have gotten back 33,000 miles for 5 tickets and almost 600.00 credit for 4 tickets that we paid for. Another flight I have to FLL for a cruise went down by 92.00 per ticket for 2 of us. Now I will use the cash credit for my trip to Aruba in April. The credits have to be used by someone on the reservation. Keep checking (I check along with my email everyday just about its paid off) I can almost guarantee if my Dec trip went down yours will too. btw keep track of what you paid EACH way because my outbound went down but the return went up in price so I just reissued the outbound trip and got the credits that way.

check flights prices on Tuesday mornings...that's typically when they post the lowest sale prices on fares

I did end up booking soon after the price started creeping up. Last night I checked again and now the tickets are $1000 more then what I paid in the morning. Though I lost out on saving in the early morning, I paid a little more later I still feel we are way ahead of the game now. Booked DME as well yesterday, so that is all set. Looking forward to getting back and seeing the changes in MK.

I know this is what has been advertised in the past but my flights never went down on a Tuesday surprisingly enough they all went down on a Saturday! Not sure why but for sure Tuesdays has been a higher fare day for the 3 trips I have been tracking.
