Finally sold on happily ever after

After watching the video and seeing all the projections, I am second-guessing my plans for my October trip. We had planned to watch Happily Ever After from the Poly beach for the first time, just to avoid the crowds. But now I'm wondering if we should switch our park days. What do you guys think?

Seeing the MK fireworks inside the park is always better than watching from a distance. That was true for Wishes, and for Fantasy in the Sky before it, so no doubt it's the same for Happily.

Re: the song.

I HATED the Wishes song. Those kid's voices were like nails on a chalkboard and the rest was just shrill and annoying.

This song, I suspect, will be the ending. Disneyland's 60th Anniversary fireworks show had a song that had a similar "sound" and it is phenomemal when combined with the tempo of the fireworks. It might be sung by pop stars but it all comes together very well.

If you listen to the lyrics of this new song, it's powerful stuff. Listen closely and try not to cry, I dare you.

This show will be 100x better than Wishes. Talk about dated and one dimensional.

I thought I was the only one who HATED the kids singing in WISHES. It was horrible. It sounded like adults trying to sound like kids, instead of real kids. This sounds 1000000% better to me. Can't wait to see it.

Exactly. Just like courtside seats are better for watching a basketball game vs upper bowl or even luxury boxes (which are a pleasant experience, but you don't experience the game action better)

I'm not that thrilled that a couple of pop stars are singing the song for this new show. I would prefer talking Disney characters like the last one. I understand there was a bit of non-character singing at the end of Wishes but anytime they put people from the "real world" in it, it feels less fairy tale-like to me. At least I didn't know the people singing at the end of Wishes. FWIW, I still don't know the people who are singing at the end of the new show, but their names were mentioned. Persnickety, I know.

Well the guy is from Hamilton so not sure if that qualifies as "pop star" but I get your point

I will say Paint the Night is largely a song by Owl City and that is my favorite Disney parade and you still get bits of characters talking and more traditional Disney songs so I hope this is at least like that - this is the song that frames the show but there are lots of classic Disney songs interspersed as well

Side note - I know people from other Disney shows are featured in the chior - from the Voices of Liberty for example

You guys, this is just a preview of the song. Less than four minutes of a 16-minute show, it's not all going to be the pop song, there will be Disney music woven in. Just. Like. Wishes.
But I dislike the song. So it doesn't matter if it's only a quarter of the show. It's cheesy. I'm sure I will love the show, but the song dampens my enjoyment. That's okay, a firework show is a firework show!

Symphony in the Stars was still the best fireworks show I've ever seen though. Just...holy cow. You know it's good when the ash is raining down on you and your chest is vibrating. LOL!

About 2 years ago is when I every experienced ashes raining down during the Illuminations fireworks. They were getting in my eyes!

Dang. If that didn't make you cry there's something wrong with you LOL. WOW. Can't wait!

I think I have to check my pulse....I was waiting for the tears but they never came. The song style just didn't let them flow I guess :confused3. I'm the first one to get teary eyed when I walk into MK and see the castle. I'm hoping that when I see it in full and in person the tears will come.

I guess that's my problem....I can't get passed the song. It kind of ruins it somewhat for me.

That's why I didn't know this guy. I didn't have $800 for a ticket to see Hamilton. I'd rather spend that money at WDW.:yay:

I did the fireworks from the Poly beach once and didn't think it was worth it but everyone has their own opinions. The fireworks are so small from there and they keep the music low so unless you are standing next to the speaker you can not hear it well. From the firework tests it seems like its still heavy on fireworks so I don't see how it would affect viewing.
