Finally sold on happily ever after

I love Wishes but definitely had goosebumps listening and watching this. Sadly, I won't be in MK on our short visit this summer but will be staying at Poly one night so we should at least be able to see the fireworks. I will catch it in the MK next trip.

this is interesting.. anyone else notice that at 3:16 you can see the projection video for all sides of the castle??? did they actually make it so you can see the show from the back?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! now I have to go 3 nights next week :(

The music is awful. The visuals are amazing. I might put on a different soundtrack on my headphones to watch

Are you kidding? (This is the Internet it's hard to tell). Heck Freaking YES!!! How could you be that close and NOT stay for the 12th? You would have to drag me way in irons if I was within a days drive on the 11th or 12th.
Well, I'll be there til the 17th, so I do plan to see HEA, just trying to decide if I want to be there for the very first one, or wait until later to see it.

Still not sold on the lyrics and style of the singing but I'm trying to have an open mind.

I'm with you (and everyone else that said the same thing so far in this thread). I like a good Disney power ballad, but that's not exactly the "kiss goodnight" that I'm usually looking for. The straining constipated voices ... that being said, wasn't Wishes like 16-17 minutes? And this song can't last that long, so here's hoping that there are 5-8 minutes of emotional child singing that they're not showing here. :yay:

I'm not that thrilled that a couple of pop stars are singing the song for this new show. I would prefer talking Disney characters like the last one. I understand there was a bit of non-character singing at the end of Wishes but anytime they put people from the "real world" in it, it feels less fairy tale-like to me. At least I didn't know the people singing at the end of Wishes. FWIW, I still don't know the people who are singing at the end of the new show, but their names were mentioned. Persnickety, I know.

I might be in the minority, but I'm kind of tired of projection shows creeping in on the fireworks. I like FIREWORKS in my fireworks, and lots of them. I've snarled and bickered in the past about the new Star Wars show compared to the old one. Those were the best fireworks I'd ever seen and this is why: 1. The music is epic and goosebump-inspiring. And 2. There were a BUTTLOAD of huge fireworks exploding all over the place. It was just such a perfect combination and great experience.

Wishes, likewise was a pure fireworks show. Celebrate the Magic was cool to kind of get you warmed up, but when it comes down to it, I want big, beautiful, classic fireworks booming all around to some great, classic Disney music.

The one thing that is giving me hope is that the MK fireworks, Wishes and Holiday Wishes included, seem to have the original songs ("Wishes" and "Spirit of the Season") at the beginning and end of the shows, but the middle is usually full of great narration and classic Disney or Holiday music. I hope that's the same with this one.

One bummer is that watching the show from outside of the park certainly won't be the same. I would imagine there will be less demand for later ADRs at Cali Grill or Narcoossee's for experiencing the fireworks since it looks like a lot of this experience will rely on the projections.

Oh well. I'm sure it'll be nice for folks who like projection shows. Personally, I don't see the appeal of watching movie scenes projected on the side of a building. I can watch the movies whenever I want. When I come to a nighttime spectacular, I want the BOOM!

Ah, that does make a difference. It's nice to have options. For me, I'd want the bragging rights forever more. I was there the day "Happily Ever After Premiered".

I hate to see the fireworks and castle projection show combined, I enjoyed "Celebrate the Magic", especially the second show, when crowds were low. Now we're only going to have one, ultra-packed show every night? And get there early if you want to see any of it! It's going to be worse than that Star Wars debacle we already have over at DS.

Exactly. With a fireworks show, all you should need to do is just look up. Nobody has a bad view.

The music has the exact same issues I find with Wishes, but the show looks visually beautiful. I don't think this is replacing my very beloved Illuminations for favorite night time show, and that's ok, I don't think anything will ever replace Illuminations and the beauty of the lagoon and Worldshowcase at night. That said, still very much looking forward to the show!

This is exactly my sentiment. The old Star Wars fireworks were the best ever, loud and in your face! Now it's a slow burn, without the powerful soundtrack it would be a total snoozefest. If HEA has the same long periods between fireworks as SW (I assume it will based on its length), it will probably feel as slow and disjointed.
