Finally, now that everyone is healthy again I can get down to business.
CKC Manchester Trip Report
Cast- little old me age-32 and holding
I was sent on a scouting mission by my secret society sisters for the main event: CKC Valley Forge July 2006
DUN-DUN-DUN
It was a dark and stormy night, the fog so thick you could cut it with a paper trimmer. Ok really it was raining like heck and I couldnt see my nose let alone the car in front of me. I knew a storm was brewing so I booked it down the road as fast as my Montero would take me. I was hot on the trail of a Massachusetts driver who had apparently just left the casino. He was swerving and swaying, zigging and zagging.
Do you think he was:
A) drunk
B) tired
C) pod cause he lost all his money
D) all of the above
My vote is
D) all of the above
Side Note - Sorry SplashMt99 I didnt get to beep and wave as planned because I was on the phone with the fuzz. This dude was really making me nervous.
I hit the Mass line, drunk/tired/pod guy pulls off on the Shrewsbury exit (good for me) and as an extra special bonus the sun came out and it stopped raining! (for now)
The directions from Mapquest were great up until I hit the N.H. border. For future reference Exit 5 (Simon St.) not at all correct! Mapquest and the Radisson neglected to mention there are 2 exit 5s. I opt not to take the first exit 5 because the directions clearly states Granite St. exit. So I push on .and .on .and on.
Did I make a mistake? The numbers are going up, 10, 11, 12 . Where am I? I stop at a toll, give the man my $ .50 and get directions. See Im a girl, I can ask directions, its ok.
Take a right, then a left onto 3 and eventually youll get to Granite St.
Ok now Im getting nervous, teens waiting for the school bus, road work, and me driving just dont mix.
Wait, what is that in the distance, it looks like no it cant be
AH HA!!! Its a hotel, not the right one but where there is one, there is usually more. I pull into a commuter parking lot and ask a cute construction guy where the Radisson is. (I love my job!)
He eyes me suspiciously. Do you think he knows? Does he suspect Im meeting with more people like us, paper hoarders and sticker hounds?
Elm St., Im looking for Elm St.
Oh, 3 street lights and hang a left.
Great thanks.
Whew that was close! I park my SUV among the mini vans and other various mommy mobiles. I have never seen so many mini vans in my life, from Mass, CT, N.H., VT, and even Canada. I must be in the right place.
I head upstairs and there they are, my sisters, my partners in crime. They are everywhere, I am home!
Im early so I grab a muffin and water from the singing deli guy. Way to chipper for me that early in the morning but alas I digress for $3.50 I got breakfast and a song. You cant beat that. I plop down at a table and am instantly greeted by a woman who was also alone. She was waiting for her business partner. See these ladies are our fearless leaders of our society or our paper pimps, however you want to look at it. They are opening a scrap store in Springfield Ma. (Only 1 1/2 hours from me!)
8:15 am time for my first class, Inspire Your Style.......
