OK, I'm seeing if we can get another donor. These things happen. Also let mdsd8700 know to file a claim. Sometimes when you do that the package "magically" appears at the post office!

Hang tight - I've emailed all the families on the list to let them know to watch for updates.

dopeygirl76, thanks so much for your last minute save! I am the original donor of the BWV tree and cannot beleive that the USPO lost the package! I was excited as this was our first year to participate in this wonderful tradition and now the first two families have missed out. Although I know I can't control what happened I feel terrible nonetheless. So I really do appreciate your generosity and will gladly add to the donation envelope!

Mr.Shiny, thanks so much for finding another donor. I am sure you have plenty to do and don't need to be bothered with the extra work. I appreciate all you have done from the start of the exchange to finding a new donor.

To the BWV DVC families in the Christmas Tree Exchange I am sorry that this happened and especially those families that didn't get the tree due to the package being lost I feel terrible that you couldn't participate and hope that it didn't cause too much disappointment to anyone in your family.

DH is home from working in Mexico, so we'll be checking and packing up VWL tree #1 today!

I'm so glad there was a replacement for the BWV that was lost in the mail.

Saratoga Springs Tree #2 will ship out the Monday after Thanksgiving via UPS it should arrive on Thursday and I'll be there on Friday to set it up. Just thought I'd share in case the families traveling after me are wondering where the tree is! It's been great fun searching for a tree and packing up everything to go with it. It really makes our December in Disney trip all the more exciting!

I know! I just read the e-mail the first family sent. I seriously can't beleive it was there the whole time. I have spend about 2.5 hours on the phone (both wait time and talking) with the USPO trying to find the package. Talking to about 4 different people. It was nuts and they pretty much told me they had no idea what happened but doubted I would ever see it again. They really have no clue it was delivered.

My husband called it a Christmas Miracle. Of course he was kidding, but it was humorus when he said it. He also orignally asked me if it went to DL on accident; funny guy.

I know that the second tree is probably on it's way if it was set to arrive on Monday. I will be there on Thursday and can take either tree to another resort if needed.

There are a couple of threads about no outside decorations at DVC resorts:

I know that there were decorations in the box last year for the door and balcony, and I included outside decorations this year with the tree I sent. Please use these outside at your own risk, or, better yet, keep them inside.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled Christmas cheer.

The bad news is I put Pirate Speedy on the AKVK list instead of BLT! Oops!

I'm working with a few folks now to see if we can get a tree to him. We do have a couple that are done early in his stay, so we might have to arrange a cross-resort switch! I've sent emails to those who might be able to help.
