Fences?? Do they make good neighbors?

I didn't mean that in a bad way! I just meant that I really don't want the fence but agree that it is probably for the best.

When we moved to our house no one had a fence. We had two big dog so we wanted a fence so that they could be let out and not run off.

We were just waiting for the right time to do it.

Well the time came when we were all at our dining room table singing happy birthday to our son on his 1st birthday and we look up and there are three young girls walking straight through our backyard, they stop look at us all, wave and smile and then just keep walking.

Grrr! We had a fence put up within two weeks. The BEST thing we've done. Now if we could only convince our two neighbors to do the same

I'd be putting up a fence.

Our backyard also backs up to the woods, dh built a three foot high fence with wooden cedar pickets. The pickets are 6 inches wide and he left three inches between them. Since the fence is made of the same material as the privacy fencse on the sides, I think it looks really nice. In fact our next door neighbor "copied" us

I wonder if your neighbor will just let himself in to weed eat the back side of his fence? I can't imagine that happening in my neighborhood. My cutting through the yard for kids, but never adults.

OMG!!! I had the same thought! I mean do most people maintain the exterior of their fence that is on the property line of another? What are the fence rules here??
